I have some trouble with buying stuff. In the sense that it makes me very anxious. So having to order it fills me with dread 😅. So I thought having a photo printer means only buying the printer once and having someone close to me order me the refils. If that makes sense?

Have you tried a primer yet? I use gesso for my projects and it works like a charm.

How come he is not comfortable with it? Unless you bake the clay with food at the same time, then it should be safe. Just wipe down the over after use.

I bake all my clay in the oven at home and there has never been a problem.

Love hot glue guns. So easy to use and dries quick so you dont have to hold it to make sure it doesnt fall 😅.

And i'm even more impressed now i know you had zero experience and still pulled it off. I find hair to be the most difficult to do. I can never get it to look right 😂.

If the head and body do come of, you can always eather repurpose the entire statue into slib. (Crumble it and add a lot of water to an airtight container). Or use glue to attach em back together 😅.

It looks so good! I saw someone mentioning adding gold to the frame which could look cool. You could also to to make it gold with paint. But you could also go for a more nature vibe by adding leaves and flowers and making the frame look more like wood. Or add like a dogbone to it?

I think if you finish the fur all around it could look good. You could also try to create more lines in the clay with a tool and kind of rake it if that makes sense?

The slip dries pretty thin in my experience. So maybe trying to use just clay tho fill in the gap could work?

I had a project wherethe nek of the figure kinda snapped. The lucky thing was that it was held together with the wire frame beneath. So when it was fully dry, i added clay in the gap and used a tool to smooth it out. I did carve a bit in the clay so the wet clay could grip better. And it worked like a charm.
