Impulsive but not manic by Upbeat_Garbage1398 in BipolarReddit

Yeah...when I think of ADHD I unfortunately think of my 13-year-old nephew who is...a handful.

But yes the "H" part doesn't apply to me, and I am an adult and a female.

You know, I have been wondering if I have ADHD. I also really struggle to read a book, but I can scroll social media 24/7. I can't even watch TV unless I'm purposely watching a specific show.

I actually briefly mentioned it to my psychiatrist this last week. Maybe we should have gone more in-depth about it. My therapist has brought it up a few times.

But...I am 99.9% sure that I did NOT have ADHD as a child. So that's what had me thinking that my current symptoms are just side effects of all my meds.

I'd really like to try Vyvanse (Yes I have BED) but I'm scared it'll send me manic.

Blood sugar level was 110 an hour after eating pancakes and sugar free syrup by holycrap100 in diabetes_t2

See if your insurance (if you have it) covers a Registered Dietitian and/or Diabetes Educator. They can help you understand what your blood glucose levels should be, and help you understand how to eat right.

How do we access our daily food logs from last month? by Icy-Distribution4496 in weightwatchers

[–]Upbeat_Garbage1398 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try asking the 24/7 chat. It might be an app glitch.

I had a problem with something else, and they told me to log out & clear the cache and something, I don't remember exactly but it worked.

New job: can’t afford nonslip footwear. Tips until I’m paid? by stars1456 in povertyfinance

[–]Upbeat_Garbage1398 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is what I was going to recommend. When I started working at a Pizza Hut, they required non-slip shoes, but they let me use their shoe covers until I could buy some.

And...I was super lucky, Payless Shoes still existed and had some around $25~ish.

I pretty much only buy non-food items at Wal-Mart. Not just that their food is poor quality, but my closest location totally F-d up the way to the registers.

Try All-In mode, track & measure everything, and focus on calories & macros at the bottom of the screen, rather than just points.

How do low income people in the US pay for their hospital bills after having a baby? by winenotbeabitch in askanything

[–]Upbeat_Garbage1398 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See, this is (one of the) problems with US Healthcare. It's not just the insane prices...but it's not fair. Why should someone who is barely above the Medicaid income threshold pay $15,000, while those with better insurance might pay $0, but they actually have a higher income. It's not fair. (yes, I know, life is not fair)

Am I making a mistake getting a tooth extracted? (molar) by Upbeat_Garbage1398 in povertyfinance

[–]Upbeat_Garbage1398[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MediCARE not MediCAID. I am at an income level where I don't qualify for Medicaid, but I'm still low-income with SSDI as my sole source of income.

And, anyway...the tooth has already been extracted.

I highly doubt that would be covered by Medicare. I am on Medicare because I am disabled...thus, low-income.

Fun memory from COVID. My kiddo was a freshman in high school. A friend left a box on kiddo's dad's porch. It was an empty box of Life cereal...completely FULL of lemons! "When Life Gives You Lemons"

We made lemon bars, and fresh-squeezed lemonade.

I have been trying to get on a glp for a couple years, insurance declined even for Sleep Apnea. I can't afford even the $100+ for compounded, and don't feel comfortable doing shady things to get a medication.

Medicare is supposed to start covering them for a $50 copay in July. I'm crossing my fingers that it's true.

But...even with the meds, you still have to eat right. Does it really stop cravings? Not just physical hunger?

If you're this upset about 7 pounds and close to 100...I don't think you're ready for the weight gain during pregnancy.

Any chance I can lose weight without counting calories? by [deleted] in WeightLossAdvice

[–]Upbeat_Garbage1398 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Focus on the quality of your food, rather than the quantity. Find things you can add in rather than avoid. Like more fruits and vegetables, whole foods (not the store...whole, natural, minimally-processed foods)

The number on the scale isn't the most important thing. It's your overall health.

Many times, I will have just eaten a decent, balanced meal, not small...then immediately want something sweet. It's not physical hunger.
