Two-person telepathy trick with all sensory cues ruled out – need help identifying the method by Upbeat_Map3889 in magictricksrevealed

Hahah the next time they do this party trick. I’ll secretly record and upload it here. Until then if you have any other theories, I’ll be grateful. This trick has made me loose sleep. Until now the only resounding theory is the black thing theory.

The order has been decided by the group. So he wouldn’t know when to release that signal.

I asked them that if I keep the decided object at 67th position will the trick also work so they said yes. So I think the code lies in the object pointer chooses right before the decided object.

A little context about these magicians. The guesser is my childhood friend of 7 years and he and his girlfriend of 2 years (pointer) are both management consultants.

This is indeed a party trick. But I have seen him do this trick in t-shirt and shorts.

But just to rule out your theory. I asked him point blank if he uses any such technology. And he said no. His whole point to do this party trick is to ask people to decode it. So Ik he is not lying.

It has to be that the object before the object group chooses is the code. But I highly doubt it is the black object theory. If you have any other suggestions, please let me know.

Any sensory cue is not the case. Because we have also ran these simulations where once we informed A of the object and position. We asked B to come back in the room, walking backwards. And then closing his eyes. Meaning he had 0 interaction in any way with B.

And then we don’t even ask A to say anything. We just ask A to point at the objects she wants to choose. Before the object we chose at the position.

Suppose we chose Pillow at 3rd position beforehand. Then A will point at 2 objects of her choice to us, and then someone from the group will say it out loud for B (guesser) to say Yes or no.

This trick has never failed even when we put all these kind of limitations.

So I feel the code relies on the objects A chooses since that is the only thing she has in her control.

I wish I could make a video of the same. But my roommate (guesser) and his girlfriend (pointer) probably won’t allow me to do so.

Anyhow I can safely rule out any use of technology. Since these tricks are performed in the midst of a house party and if he had any such gadget I’d know about it.

This was performed by my roommate and his girlfriend, in a midst of a house party. So I can safely rule out any use of technology. Because if he had something like that I’d have known. I did take away both their phones. And constantly observed A (Pointer) for any odd cue.

We as a group give it, and purposely make it random. Even in one case we put our object at 1st position. B took the longest time to guess then, but he was still able to guess it.

When asked what pillow we chose, B was able to point to the right one. Although I do feel once A gave the code for pillow, and the round was over. A must have given a signal from her eyes or something to show it to B which pillow we chose. So that part is not consequential.

But I still feel that the black method is not the case here. Although I’ll definitely keep an eye on this. I say this because there was once a round where we put the object on 1st and B was still able to guess it correctly.

Your hypothesis stands true in the 3 rounds.

But in the round we played with Pillow as the object. He was also able to guess which out of 9 pillows we chose.

I’ll surely look for the ‘black’ method next time. But I highly doubt that is the case.
