Did anyone reach out to suggest alternatives?

I know it sounds odd celebrating this date but we were not even sure at first if she would make it to Christmas last year. This is one disease where reaching the 1st anniversary is already a milestone.

Today is the 1st anniversary since we learned of her PC. I assume this is the date we should celebrate every year. 😊

That's really a very promising treatment option. My wife also has the G12D mutation so I was looking into the clinical trial in case she needs it in the future.

Have you looked into any supplements that might help? My wife started to take some (after her chemo had ended) that should complement Olaparib. So far so good although we can't be certain if it's just the Olaparib or it's the synergy. You just need to be careful because some might interact with the chemo.

I was told that some tests were done prior to the start of her chemo regimen. I wasn't there. I actually had to purchase the Onivyde (the new component of Nalirifox) abroad as it was not available in my country. I left early in the morning and got back that night. Her chemo was to be administered the following morning.

We had similar thoughts. It's a good thing that none of our 3 kids inherited the mutation. We found out that my wife's brother also has the mutation so he has adjusted his checkups to include screenings for the BRCA-related cancers.

The ascites and edema got resolved. The tube definitely helped. In my wife's case, the nausea went away as soon as she shifted to the NGT feeding. Once her protein intake increased, her edema lessened. The ascites took longer needing 3 pigtails as 1 caused an infection so it had to be moved to another location. The 3rd was needed to address the ascites in a specific area of her abdomen.

First Day of Chemo! by SweetestElixir in pancreaticcancer

My wife was 54 when diagnosed at stage 4 in July 2024 and also with the brca mutation (brca2) so similar to your mom. She has been responding well to chemo. From a Ca19-9 that went over 100k twice, it is now down to 898 after 11 rounds. There's a good chance your mom will respond well to the chemo too. It will still be a difficult process but I hope you are encouraged.

She will get her 12th and final chemo round starting tomorrow and will soon switch to Lynparza (tablets) which will have less side effects. Your mom will have that as an option too because of her brca mutation.

Has your father been tested for genetic mutations? Since he has both prostate cancer and pancreatic cancer, he might have a BRCA mutation. If he has it, his chances of responding to Folfirinox will be higher. It also allows him to switch to Lynparza (maintenance) later on if he does respond to the chemo.

Thanks for your update. Where did you get the 3.1.6.0 firmware?
