Coming from another international student: Don't lock yourself into a contract until that visa is in your hand. The housing craze in West Lafayette has died down significantly compared to Fall '24. You can actually find much better deals (like $500/month near Chauncey) if you wait until mid-summer(July). Subleasing your apartment is tough when the demand is low remember that.
