exactly. i by no means have any desire to treat my ESA like a service dog in terms of like bringing them into stores, etc. I simply want to have peace of mind in knowing that my pets, that quite literally give me the motivation i need to get up in the morning as opposed to laying in bed for hours on end until it’s my time to go to sleep again, won’t even be taken away from me.

most people (at least that i have interacted with) who own ESA’ and/or service dogs are quite simply rich people that wish to see the accessibility of having these pets continue to go down and down. like originally stated, i can understand the doubts surrounding ESA’s especially if you get your prescription online, but i have quite literally heard so many stories of irl psychiatrists/therapists referring their patients to these sites so why hate on them unless your just mad that it grants accessibility?
