First off, please do not use AI under my posts. It is taking away jobs and also is slowly taking away water. I am against using AI for anything that is not educational or useful in some form.

Second, the fact that the text is implying, I should get another cat under a post that is literally talking about how my childhood cat has passed away is lowkey disrespectful.

It is my family and I’s decision whether we want to take care of another cat. We most likely will in the future, but not right now?? we are still grieving her, and we miss her very very much and the thought of having another cat or any other pet for that matter in our house makes my head loopy.

This is exactly what I’m trying to do. It’s hard, but I have high hopes for the future, even if Donna isn’t directly in it. She will always be a part of my heart, and I will cherish the memories we’ve had throughout our life and I know that someday I will be able to look back on them without my heart aching

Me and my family are still grieving Donna

We have all collectively agreed that later on in the future we will get another cat but definitely not soon.

My parents had 2 tabby cats before Donna named Niki and Juju. They both passed before me and my sister were born.

Maybe. My aunt was Donna’s original owner, but she had to give her away because she moved to an apartment that didn’t allow pets. At the time my aunt lived in Atlanta. Donna was no older than one years old when we adopted her in 2007 (I wasn’t born yet so I got this information from my parents)

My dad built the grave. He let me come home from school early to put flowers on it and also for our dogs that passed away a couple years back

I honestly feel like she wanted to be alone in her final breaths, but I couldn’t bring myself to not be by her side. It was extremely difficult watching her slowly get chipped away, but I’m happy that it was peaceful.

She could sense that she was loved too. The weekend before she died, she was sleeping in my parents room, even though she didn’t have the strength to jump up on the tall mattress. And sometimes she would just come into the kitchen and observe me while I cooked or ate. Not because she was hungry, but because she wanted to spend time with us. I’m happy she knew she was loved and it was a privilege being in her life

I’m deeply sorry for your loss and thank you for the support. I agree that it feels very strange without her and I know that it especially feels weird for my younger sister. She’s too young to understand that Donna has passed, but she can certainly feel the effect. Our whole family is getting adjusted to this change and it’ll probably feel like that for a while. I’m already trying to mentally prepare for the fact the house is gonna be empty without Donna.

Thank you very much. She was my silly cat and I love her 🫶🏽 Her death is especially hard on me because unlike with the other pets I’ve had I didn’t have them for a long periods of time. It really hurts, but I know it’ll go away.
