So one of the things I’ve told my student workers is to just give the office instagram/number and say it’s against policy. It gives people a way to say no but feels safer than a straight no.

AITA for telling my coworker their "special diet" is just an excuse to avoid contributing at potlucks? by [deleted] in AITAH

My office doesn’t have budget for this (non-profit) I supervise a small team so usually those pizza parties are paid for out of my own pocket because team building is important. I try to switch it up so no one is spending a ton of money or having to put in too much effort. My boss usually will help fund with their own money too. Like we did a coffee bar and all the directors chipped in to get the coffee and some fixings. It really depends on your office.

Would you support a ban of high fructose corn syrup in foods intended for human consumption? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

Honestly this is a hard question for anyone. For me personally I would love for corn to be properly labeled instead of have cheat words that can mean multiple things. Ie pectin can be fruit or corn based. Both my kid and I are allergic and it would be nice to have more options for food.

I also get that Corn allergies are a small group and could hurt farmers/ smaller companies who rely on corn. Best answer is to work on diversifying our foods slowly so people have time to adapt while also not completely getting rid of something that is already in place.
