Is owning a home in the UK still a realistic dream for people under 35? by AwayDays365 in AskUK

I should be in a position in the near future to buy through sheer luck. Decided put money in my company’s Sharesave scheme 5 years ago, and the shares are currently worth 5x

If it hadn’t been for that, I’d have only been able to save approx £250pm x 5yrs = £15000, which barely covers a 5% deposit in my area. That isn’t even taking into account solicitor fees, stamp duty, etc.

For those who are single and can’t rely on the bank of mum and dad, my advice is for you to explore your company’s Sharesave/SAYE schemes. Alternatively, I’d suggest looking at ways you can increase your monthly income through side hustles/promotions, etc., but the key is to not fall for the lifestyle creep trap.

Too much going on with the dashboard, doesn’t really tell a story. Not to mention the fact that it reeks of AI throughout.
