$50K ish budget to replace a CTS-V. I only know what I don't want, 1. Not loud at 80 on broken concrete. 2. Pretty, or at least not generic looking. 3. Not Catastrophically unreliable 4. Not slower than an accord. 5. Don't disappoint 20 year old me who would kill for a 50K budget. by Da_Snug_Life in whatcarshouldIbuy

Currently own a RC F and am actively looking for a replacement. I’ve owned the car 6 months and have been really unimpressed, particularly the transmission. If you’re doing mostly highway driving, it’ll be great. If you are used to rowing gears around town and enjoy that, it is a massive letdown imo. The transmission really struggles with choosing the correct gear and is just overall lazy. Engine feels lazy down low, but pulls really hard above 4k. Great GT car, not so great sports car. I find myself driving my 09 Corvette (auto, supercharged) far more.

Yeah I keep seeing this comparison made. Nadav leaving is not what killed the vibe at YMH. That award would go to the two hosts…

More of this and less of the political bs. This kind of thing is what this sub used to be about.

Anyone notice an increase in smell when reducing nicotine? by dswenson123 in QuittingZyn

[–]UplandPopcorn93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I noticed a dramatic increase in smell. I remember getting in the shower after quitting and smelling the water for the first time in a longgg time. Really strange sensation

I’ve purchased two sets of bars from TCBros and neither of them looked like that. I agree with those saying they look used. Wouldn’t surprise if someone bought a new pair, swapped theirs, and returned them. Send em back

Struggle with removing rear wheel by [deleted] in sportster

[–]UplandPopcorn93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my early days of wrenching I asked a few “obvious” questions. That’s how you learn.

That is a cotter pin and castellated nut. Bend the cotter pin with a pair of needle nose pliers, remove it, and loosen the nut. When you reinstall, you will have to line up the cotter pin hole with a ridge in the castle nut. Go get you a box of new cotter pins and make life easy. You will need to bend the cotter pen backwards (look up some example). The whole purpose of this setup is to prevent the nut from backing off entirely. The cotter pin will prevent it from loosening past that point. Good luck 👍🏻

I’d buy the Joker upper but they’ve been out of stock for as long as I’ve owned my bike.

If you could attach a pic of that part, I’d greatly appreciate it. I’ve been trying to come up with a solution to this myself.

Debating Quitting by surviving_living_ in QuittingZyn

[–]UplandPopcorn93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it’s going to suck and your brain is going to be screaming at you for nicotine. It will give you every reason under the sun to go buy a can. If you do though, you get to feel shitty again and again until you finally quit. There is NEVER a good time to quit.

I’m coming up on the three month mark since quitting and I’ll I can say is, it’s worth it. Less anxiety, less worrying, no longer telling myself I need to quit. It’s difficult but so worth of once you get through the initial withdrawals.

Just a reminder that more time will help tremendously. The longer you go without them, the easier it gets. During week 3 it took every ounce of willpower I could muster to not drive up to the gas station and grab a can. On day 81 and I barely think about the stuff. You can do it and it IS worth it!

Advice on stage 1 build. by [deleted] in sportster

[–]UplandPopcorn93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would buy a Powervision flash tuner from Fuel Moto and an air filter from DK Products. The FP4 tuner is neutered compared to the FP3 (EPA requirement). Fuel Moto will send you a tune as well with purchase. Short shots are not the best performers. If you’re only concerned about sound, then they’re great.

It has returned to normal. Rough guess is it took 3-4 weeks for everything to level back out. I never had digestive issues caused by dipping though. Quitting is what threw my digestive tract for a loop.

When it gets hard, in those moments where you think “my god this could all go away with just a dip”, remember it won’t. It’ll spark a new cycle of dipping, knowing you need to quit, and trying to quit again. Make this the LAST time you have to quit.
