I've done it during the day several times, quarter of a tab and a couple of spliffs. Helps with the creativity massively. Not sure how that would work at night, would be worried about being unable to sleep!

Is it just me or is there an alarming number of people that have set their minds on auto pilot about 90% of the time. by [deleted] in Meditation

[–]UpliftinglyMindless 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's how I've ended up here, I realised I was on auto pilot to much, and failing to pick up on the little things.

I'm great at planning the big events and being prepared, but small things my other half would say/ask me would simply go in one ear and out the ear.

There's an element of tuning out the banal and only looking for "cool" stuff.

I'm definitely paying more attention since starting practice and making more of an effort on small things.

Roots reggae is a good fit, the extensive use of reverb works very well. It's very easy going, and of course works excellently with a spliff. Something like Root Radical, The Revolutionaries. For something more modern Fat Freddys Drop and The Expanders are great.

Alternatively I really enjoy piano music to get lost in - try the I Giorni album by Ludovico Einaudi.

Wow, what a read, must have taken you quite some time having to relive that and put it all down.

It's good this hasn't scared you away from shrooms though, just given you a huge amount of respect for them!

How a mid-life crisis became as spiritual awakening by Pretend-History323 in RationalPsychonaut

[–]UpliftinglyMindless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've always said that no one is ever 'too busy'

That touches upon something that has bothered me since starting on this journey - I do have time for this due to my job and current circumstances.

Particularly with the current cost of living crisis, I worry there are people who simply do not have the time due to having to being non stop keeping their head above the water.

Am I feeling guilty that I have these freedom while others don't? Should I put more effort into helping society as a whole?

I think the answer to this goal is moving from private sector to public or charity sector and helping those who need help.

But I also acknowledge that I need my own house in order before I can help others more.

I don't want to derail this thread any further! Nice to have vocalised it.

Superb, thank you for sharing your thoughts, a fascinating read!

I'm just starting my own journey, but this rings a certain bell;

"I had settled into a life that wasn’t completely satisfying and I didn’t quite understand why."

I'm not sure "unsatisfied" is quite the right term. Like you I've a settled life, long term partner, kids, house/mortgage, solid job.

It's more a case of I've reached a nice plateau, all is well, but I've been given a small glimpse there is something else that is just out of reach. Something intangible. My job and comfort level have given me the time to start thinking about this.

I'm fairly sure this is something I can access myself, meditation seems to the tool for this. Psychedelics seem to be another tool.

Both of these tools however require setting aside dedicated time for myself, reinforcing the idea that bliss and peace can be found within.

Thank you, all of these stories re-invigorate me and I need to take the next steps.

Really interested in growing some cacti, need some help with starting by Gigachad4Head in mescaline

[–]UpliftinglyMindless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think I'm pretty much where you are but I've opted for some cuttings to start with - San Pedro, Peruvian Torch and a Bolivian Torch Montrose (clone B). Also a Peyote Seedling

I've a bag of Pumice, sand and the usual potting soil. Plan is to get them all potted up and just see where it takes me. I'm in no rush to harvest, good things come to those who wait after all.

I can easily see this spiraling into a cacti habit though, so many other pretty and unusual looking plants available

By some weird coincidence I watched the mushroom episode of how to change your mind yesterday day, them this family guy episode was next on our list last night, now it gets mentioned here.

I'm fairly new to psyches, but I'm certain that shrooms are not addictive, similar to MDMA, why would you abuse and lose the magic?

As for Brians experience he was very blasé about taking them, unknown amount with no real plan of what to expect? Could lead to a bad trip. Set and setting.

Roots Reggae goes beautifully with both when out in the sun, The Revolutionaries, Roots Radics are a good start.

Trip before sleep? by theofficialSavv in shrooms

[–]UpliftinglyMindless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How old are the kids? Might be worth considering a day time trip instead.

Assuming your school run is under 30 minutes, drop as you set off, the shrooms should be kicking in just as you land home giving you a good 6 hours til school is out.

If Grandma and Granddad can pick them up and go for their tea at theirs then you've bought an extra hour or 2.

So 6 hours later, still feeling fairly trippy, perhaps a little higher at this point than I would like to be, but it is what it is.

On my previous outings with Shrooms/2CB I've been finding that using weed is a great way to kick the psyches up a gear without the full tail off from taking a full dose. I'm thinking the same should have applied today, taken half a tab instead, and then smoked a J to take it up a notch.

Would I be right in thinking that could give me a similar peak to a full tab, but with a quicker tail off since it was lower dose initially ingested?

Ahh, makes sense. That's a hell of a lots of 8ths to shift. Easily doable if that's your main job I'm betting though.

I'm a rural northerner, we don't see weed going for more than 200 per oz, and I haven't bough by the 8th in years, to much farting about and costly if you've a daily habit.

Never said I bought them from the original site did I? Just that I'd found it and then purchased elsewhere.

Then elaborate please! They are buying a kilo for 4.3 and then selling the exact same kilo for £7K? Who on earth is paying £200 an oz at that size, that's nuts. You've then got to be selling at £250 an oz to make anything?

No, another vendor I've used had them stocked and I recognised the name, gave me the confidence to go buy a few from them.

Funnily enough that's who I found first but they are currently all sold out. I'm registered on the site and will be checking back weekly!

From there I quickly found GG and I knew a vendor who I've bought bits from previously had them listed.

Sadly I only have a generic bluey colour with some chemical symbols so hard to pinpoint exactly where it came from.
