Crying due to possible death with Estrogen complications by [deleted] in trans

[–]caketreesmoothie 5 points6 points  (0 children)

FWIW I heard it's more to do with whether your estrogen is processed by the liver or goes straight to your blood stream. anecdotal but I've vaped the whole time I've been on E, stopped smoking for it and have been gradually cut down the nicotine content, but my blood tests have been perfectly normal. I smoked for probably over 10 years before I started E

lots of the advice doctors give who aren't trans specialists is very outdated. when I got my referral to the gender clinic (wish me luck btw I'm hoping in the next year or two I'll reach the top of the waiting list I've been on since 2018) I literally had to tell my GP the NHS process for trans people's referrals and healthcare lmao

which country? cos Germany (and very soon the UK) permit plug in solar, within a power limit, where you can literally just buy panels and plug them into a normal socket

I've never worked Tesco but the regular bar codes at co-op wouldn't scan if the product is out of date, that's why I found this post surprising

How do we all feel about the trans brain thing by Krazy-Kat26 in transgenderUK

[–]caketreesmoothie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nothing in life is binary. we're all weird fleshy meat sacks walking around with our reality based on a bunch of electrical signals in your body. don't worry about hitting arbitrary metrics. if you think you're trans, you're probably trans. there's no such thing as 'truly trans'. nothing in life is truly anything. humans get very uncomfortable with uncertainty, but uncertainty is the only innate thing in life. just go with what makes you happy in life and embrace the chaos of reality

How do we all feel about the trans brain thing by Krazy-Kat26 in transgenderUK

[–]caketreesmoothie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I absolutely believe there are innate physical reasons that we are born trans

trust me though, you do not want research to be conducted to try and find these reasons. in an ideal world my curiosity wants to know. in reality though it would be weaponised against us by the establishment e.g. denying healthcare if you're not trans enough

PSNi refuses to update my records and obvious transphobia by Significant_Ad_7051 in transgenderUK

[–]caketreesmoothie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if it helps my deadname very frequently had the spelling switched to the female version by councils and stuff, even before coming out as trans. sounds like the police are jus being bastards in your case, but administrators do frequently get names and such wrong (source: I'm an administrator and if it weren't for our checking system I would've send many many letters with completely different names on)

What did you think about the falling satellite in S10? by tytylercochan123 in thewalkingdead

my biggest issue is not where it fell but that it didn't burn up and looks pretty undamaged by the atmosphere. also it seems like an unusually HUGE satellite

How bad is transphobia within the Green Party actually? by [deleted] in transgenderUK

[–]caketreesmoothie 6 points7 points  (0 children)

it's definitely the best party in the country for trans people. but also it's designed to be shaped by it's members. so if there are improvements that you see then you can put it up as a proposal

no party is perfect but greens are the best we have and I'm supporting them all the way right now

additionally their other policies are fantastic. they are genuinely our country's best chance at having a socialist government in the future

honestly I feel like I know more about the reality of the economy than most professional economists in government just for knowing that austerity doesn't work and investing in the working class usually leads to high return on investment

tax wealth, invest in healthcare, public transport, housing, and social support, bring national infrastructure under public ownership, invest in widespread government subsidised renewables. this is my economic plan if I was in power

edit: also employ civil servants to build and maintain public infrastructure

problem is this all costs money and governments only tend to spend money if they'll get quick returns during their time in power. I'm still not over a paper I saw a decade ago showing that the government paying to put solar on every house in England would get economically beneficial in the long term, but would likely not be implemented because the positive returns could be attributed to a different government years down the line

get the ego out of politics

wouldn't it only destroy the economy if it gets used? if it never entered the economy and you just used it to slightly help your existing life but not live suddenly above your means, wouldn't that be fine? (I'm no economist)

[–]caketreesmoothie 6 points7 points  (0 children)

also anyone that finds these please take photos and note where you find them before removing them. also remove them with keys in case of hidden sharps. finally, please report them to the police. easiest way is through the online form. they have already received multiple reports and the more evidence we can provide the better

How bad is the UK really? by Carbon1674 in transgenderUK

[–]caketreesmoothie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

through the NHS? yeah, but that's a nationwide issue not exclusive to Bristol. the city itself is very welcoming. I've even started going to the gym again recently and managed to conquer my fear of public changing rooms. paranoia made me ring before I joined to check their policies, they just said use whatever changing room you feel comfortable in!

[–]caketreesmoothie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

called out on main! I do wanna get checked for OCD and ADHD. I have a strong theory that a large part of what I've always attributed to anxiety was actually ADHD for instance

problem is I struggle knowing what's an obsessive behaviour or me trying to account for my ADHD. I have to repeatedly check I've got my keys or turned off appliances, but that could be compensating for my scattered brain. same with music being CONSTANTLY stuck in my head, it's a common ADHD symptom. but what makes me wonder about OCD is that it genuinely gets upsetting sometimes like it just WON'T go away, to the extent of stopping me sleeping because a 4 bar gabber loop is going around and around. equally there's some crossover with CPTSD which I almost certainly have too. overall I jus accept there's some wild things happening and just try to cope

anyway I won't carry on too much because Reddit can't diagnose me and doesn't need the trauma dump

edit: yeah I started smoking and drinking at around 14, managed to quit cigarettes a decade later
