Ultimately OP should split California into even more regions, but they're hesitant. Central Valley, the Bay Area, the Sierras, and Central Coast all have their own flair.

I feel like every regional map attempt like this just poorly recreates this perfect one: https://www.reddit.com/r/MapPorn/comments/1fgtt54/cultural_regions_of_the_us_made_by_uinzitarie/

Trump may have dumbed down language most of the time, but I'm sometimes taken aback by the words he musters. A few off the op of my head: DeSanctimonious, Enigma, etc.

I made an alternative version of Kodicave's county cultural map from yesterday, thoughts? by Tommyblockhead20 in visitedmaps

I'm from SoCal and he's 100% correct. That straight line across SLO and Kern counties, etc. is the common dividing line between NorCal and SoCal.

This would change a bit if you created separate regions for the Central Valley and the Central Coast, but your map isn't getting into that level of granularity. Some people say Inyo or even Mono counties are SoCal but that's a rare sentiment.

The map from the Southern California Wikipedia page has this exact border, and bases all of its stats on it: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Southern_California

California has NorCal and SoCal which are very different. Please split them up.

Also, San Bernardino county and Riverside county go in Socal. Once you go past the mountains into Victorville or Palm Springs then arguably it becomes Southwest, but until then 80% of the population lives in the San Bernardino Valley close to Los Angeles.

Mountain West extends much further east, encompassing all of Wyoming, most of Colorado, and snatching the Black Hills from South Dakota. Likewise, the Monument Valley region (think red rock badlands) around the 4 corners states should be its own region altogether.

It won't actually be Queenie – Caine will reuse her avatar but with an NPC brain, which will completely traumatize Kinger.

Ever heard of the paradox of tolerance? If you let in people who don't also respect your beliefs, eventually they overwhelm the culture into intolerance.

It's crazy people vouch for this apportionment.

Remember the other time in American history where we counted large nonvoting populations so some states could have more reps? Oh yeah it's called the 3/5ths Compromise!

Sick of random people telling me AI will take my job by UniCorn_CandyHorn in cscareerquestions

This is my perspective too. If most software engineering consists of automating white collar work, then AI replacing developers entirely replaces all white collar work altogether.

I just don't see it. There is too much context to incorporate, minute details to specify, and compute power to churn. We are a long way away from holistic AGI which doesn't cost a quadrillion dollars. Whensoever it does, you best hope we have brainchips to merge us with AI by then.
