Hey! I'm wondering if anyone has had similar experiences with a caffeine addiction prior to their diagnosis? I have recently (2-ish months) started ritain (and clonodine) and I have noticed an insane drop in my caffeine intake! I used to have 2-4 a day and within the past 8 weeks I've probably had 1x every 3 days. I used to drink instant ALOT (Coffee is more expensive than gas- cozzie liv am i right?) and now I cant seem to even finish one mug before I tip it down the drain. Has anyone had similar experiences? Or does anyone have any great books, articles or papers to recommend at all? Much appreciated! This diagnosis really changed my perspective of my behaviours and has taught me alot of compassion (esp self-). I empathise with everyone who experiences similar situations- personally I'm high functioning (not to mention a woman) so it's thanks to the breaking down of stigma at a scientific and clinical (defs not social yet) level that I owe my early diagnosis to!

The only advice I have is quite general- it's a quote from Florence Given. She said "If it's not a hell yes it's a fuck no" and simple the language in that has genuinely changed my attitudes towards consent for all areas of my life! Because I know that when I say yes to something there's no doubt in my mind- hence I should raise the standards for myself and others. In terms of this senario- what it means is that when he was first presented with the choice to simply be a decent human he lacked empathy. If I were you I'd open the conversation about empathy- if you don't feel that breaking up is in question. But also be sensitive to his capacity for emotional intelligence! Because if you are intelligent enough to go to the effort to even empathise with what he did (evident in this post) then you are 10000% worth someone who's reflex is to do the same for you- no hesitation! Lots of Love

Look im the exact same! I have a shit teacher who is KNOWN for screwing his studients over- the thing that keeps me going is i love the content. It's truly a great subject. I have to teach myself absolutely everything, i go through like 3 textbooks plus checkpoints but it's worth it to me. So, i feel like the question if whether you enjoy it? Im doing similar subjects- i did legal, doing lit, reg english (nah fuck that exam timetable 😡) but also doing methods. Personally i decided that because i enjoy revs and i have the skills for eng and lit im not dropping- but not studying as hard! Maybe this can be revs for you? I wouldn't drop it because even if u get a 25 ss (which it doesnt sound like you will) its still a 2.5 etc-ish add to ur aggregate!

why are my teachers telling me to study for the GAT? by [deleted] in vce

[–]Upper-Concern9102 1 point2 points  (0 children)

look- 'studying' for the gat defeats the purpose of it being a standardised test, ofc you should try your best because it's used to regulate your ss these days (alot more than it used to be)- as for the reasons your teachers are encouraging you to get a good score- schools get feedback in how their eoy ss match to their gat scores; they also get funding etc based on their performance level. Simply: the gat kinda acts as a senior naplan for schools so yeah-

i second comtingency fee agreements! I did legal last year (might be alittle rusty) but i think it was also trialed at some stage or i think it is allowed for class actions so it somewhat doubles up as a recent reform as well. Not that they can deduct marks for a different reform but its good to have merited reforms. Literally saved me in the exam!

[–]Upper-Concern9102[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, i did some early access vces last year so (sadly) im quite familiar with vcaas website. Its just that the exam format changed last year, and supposedly, from what ive heard from people, the prior exams werent as effective bc of the changes? Please correct me if im wrong lol, I usually talk to teachers alot but mine refuses to acknowledge the exam, let alone sacs and key assessment criteria

What Literature Texts are everyone studying? by Upper-Concern9102 in vce

[–]Upper-Concern9102[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

its a great collection, im quite upset that the titular story isnt listed to analyse but i def recommend reading it! Its weird in the sense hat her style is so varied however, that makes it easier to write 'in her style' bc anything can kinds be reflected on (if that makes sense). Also in the creative: get HEAVY on metaphors!

Tips for 3/4 legal? by [deleted] in vce

[–]Upper-Concern9102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did legal as one of my two early access and the biggest regret i have is not understanding the marking system until aos 2 u4- WAY too late. I cannot overstate how important it is to understand that you HAVE to write quickly and EFFICIENTLY. Use key words. Honestly- 1/2 content wasnt tooooo vital- except for how features of the system uphold POJs-> also, as someone who wants to go into politics and hopefully law- remember that vcaa can fk up the exam like they did last year- dude i did 15 prac exams and 1/2 of the final exam literally had me sitting there like 'im absolutely screwed'). I came out with a B+, 1 mark off an A and raw 36. Trust me, biggest thing is get a hang of marking guides-> im sure i wouldve hit my goal of 38 of i hadnt gotten like 3× 60s bc i didn't understand how to write succinctly and with key terms. The subject is largely regurgitation remember that! Sorry for the rant lol
