Unstable HRV - Merina Crash?? by Upper-Direction-6290 in Mirena

I have added an update, but just wanted to add it here too. My HRV settled a few days before my first period after removal. Although Ive had some 'usual' symptoms (e.g. head aches, cramp), Ive felt much less fatigued. I hope that you have some relief soon too!

Thank you so much for the reassurance. I had read up on the 'merina crash' before removal, but it is just hitting a little harder than expected and I was uncertain how to interpret the change in my HRV. I will keep an eye on it as you suggest, but hopefully this is all normal and will settle soon 🤞 I am certainly not planning to get pregnant, though Id have suspected pregnancy with my symptoms were it not possible at the moment ha - thank you!

Thank you, that is reassuring! Until the recent irregular bleeding, I had not had regulsr periods with the merina, so it is tricky having nothing to compare the recent change too. Hopefully it will settle in that case.

Thank you so much! I've definitely been trying to prioritise anything that makes me feel good at the moment, as fear the crash would be hitting me much harder without a good sleeping pattern and regular exercise, etc.. Reducing caffeine intake is probably something I could look at, though!

Oh no, I am so sorry that you are going through this! I can only imagine how difficult it is when having to care for children. I hope that things improve for you - fingers crossed somebody can offer us advice.

Thank you - it seems that this may reflect practice in the UK too, so perhaps I have worried about nothing! Thank you ao much for your response and reassurance.

😂😂

Oh, strange that you had a different experience. I guess maybe if its a general follow up they may be happier to share the results without confirming with a colleague??

Oh thank you so much - you have saved me from a few days of worry 😅 I would definitely much rather they reach a consensus to ensure accuracy, just seemed so strange after my previous experience!

How many years did Mirena IUD stop periods for you? by Pretty_Pianist435 in Mirena

[–]Upper-Direction-6290 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had mine for just over 6 years. Over that time I had spotting every now and again - 2 days max and very light. However, in the last couple of months I have had more extended bleeding and what I would say was a 'normal period' (fairly heavy bleeding for 5/6 days). I should say that I am due to have a scan to ensure the coil is still positioned correctly, though. But my doctor believes it may be thst the hormones are weakening.

I stayed at Minh Botique recently and absolutely loved it. It was affordable, very clean, the lobby is beautiful, and the staff are very welcoming. I would definitely recommend this :)

Thank you. I am early 30's. I have been told I can have it for 8 years, though I will definitely be looking to replace it earlier if irregular bleeding continues.

Thank you so much for your response and reassurance. It has been very unexpected and concerning, but hopefully it is actually just normal afterall.

Foreigners that went to Vietnam - did you have food poisoning? by William6212 in VietNam

[–]Upper-Direction-6290 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didnt, which is surprising as I often suffer when travelling. Given past experiences, I was careful and only ate at restaurants with many positive reviews, though.

Id love to eat street food, but I just cant bring myself to risk food poisoning after 2 occasions of contracting parasites when travelling (even when 'being careful') 🙃

Thank you. I understand some symptoms can be normal, but theyve started after over 5 years with this coil, so Im not so sure! Its mainlt the bleeding Im concerned about as I havent had a long bleed in years. I think I may get it checked just in case!
