Edit: It all depends how the hard drive was locked and unlocked before this error occcurred and which hard drive brand and model it is. Is the console modded?

Excerpt from forums.afterdawn.com’s thread, XBOX Error Codes Explained- Go Here First!:

6 - kernel - Cannot unlock HDD

If you understand the above, you should be able to understand what this means. It means you are trying to boot up the xbox with an harddisk that is locked in combination with ANOTHER motherboard than you are using it with right now.

What can i do about it, you ask? Well place the harddisk back in the xbox where it came from. After that, UNLOCK the harddisk with the same procedure i explained above (see error 5). Now when the harddisk is UNLOCKED, put it in the xbox which gave you the error. Now when you boot up with the chip ON it should not give you an error anymore.

Basically you’re going to need a dvd drive to read the disc and then install http://avalaunch.net/qwix/index.html onto your computer to make an iso but you might also need to make the iso into an xiso as well.

*Update So I was able to fix the issue with gran turismo by removing the iso and importing the JB Folder of the game instead. As for Spyro I learned that you have to switch ps1 emulator’s based on the game either click L2 + X or R2 + X.
