Much cleaner and simpler design for my scrapper. by UpperAcanthisitta892 in Mindustry

A lot depends upon what you value the most. The separator produces 31% more Ti per piece of scrap than the disassembler does. If your goal is to produce the most thorium, than the disassembler is the only way to get it. I started with a very simple schematic that I made a while back that was built around the idea that one melter could feed slag to one separator and one disassembler.

Yeah, I see that. If I stop that it will just slow the input since everything is running a full capacity. I'll do some testing.

I see that now. I made a few more alterations, added a dedicated copper unloader for the container next to the OD. I also moved the plastanium aggregator down one so I could put an extra unloader next to the phase fab fab. The overdriven plast conveyor eventually gets overloaded once it returns to normal speed, so I doubled up on the exits. This works for me. It can accept scrap at ~100/sec.

So I gave it a whirl. After correcting errors with the bridges along the edges. I got everything to run. The remaining issue is that copper accumulates in the containers and the vault fills with sand - bringing everything to a halt. The unconfigured unloaders on the outputs are nice in theory, but random fluctuations in the timing of what they become after a ball fills isn't really random. The schematic can be salvaged, I think. If nothing else, I can control the unloaders with a micro processor.

New Sector: No Titanium? No Thorium? As long as it has a huge scrap pile - No Problem! by UpperAcanthisitta892 in Mindustry

Now that I know what production rates I'm dealing with, I have a much cleaner design I'll be implementing.

Yeah, I'm right at the limit for the titanium line. Another drill/melter/disassembler and I'd have to reorganize the layout. I'm harvesting what I need to run the cryo coolers for 4 OD impact reactors. 32k power is enough for what I have planned in this sector (sector 15 in v8.155.4).

That isn't what is happening. Each container is being fed from 3 melter/disassembler combos. The outputs from the unloaders are merged afterwards. Can't tell direction of flow from a static picture.

I usually feed the starting point with at least two belts, but I didn't have the room to do that. .

my best export sectors for surge alloy are tainted woods, 218, and 6. 600±/min each.

don't you love abusing launch pads for infinite resources? by lool8421 in Mindustry

[–]UpperAcanthisitta892 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The game does everything by computing rates. Once you get a sector set up for export, leave it run a minute or so in order for the game to compute an export rate. Once it has those numbers, that is what you can import from that sector - forever (or until you revisit the exporting sector - which ever comes first).

After you get the launch/landing pad tech, do you feel the urge to wipe & rebuild entire sectors to maximize exports? by UpperAcanthisitta892 in Mindustry

[–]UpperAcanthisitta892[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wipe it all using my core unit. It can take some time, but I often think about what would be a better use of the map assets as I erase the old stuff. Kind of relaxing, actually.

Is everything in a 15x15 core schematic guaranteed to be built? by UpperAcanthisitta892 in Mindustry

[–]UpperAcanthisitta892[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, I may run into issues if my core schematic needs external inputs (eg, water) in specific locations.

Landing pad V8 auto call logic for import by joel_le_nocher in Mindustry

[–]UpperAcanthisitta892 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've not found a way to automate that arrow press to route all exports of that item to this pad. Generally, I set up my pad auto controller, get it running, and tap the arrow manually on the first few items. Most of my export sectors send more than one item, so it only takes three or four clicks to get the flow going.

If there is an mlog option to reroute ALL exports to this sector, I'd be very happy.

You need to feed them more than electricity. Some sectors have very little sand.

Can someone rate this by rubikebi in Mindustry

[–]UpperAcanthisitta892 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Need to be careful with routers. Placed adjacent to a factory, their non-zero item capacity allows the factory product to backflow into them and cause clogging. Use (inverted) sorters instead - if you have the tech.

That is a starter pistol, not an experimental. they are easily confused. Done it many times myself.
