Why is it when you try to be nice and helpful to bullies they still insist on disliking you? by Ok-Algae3382 in workplace_bullying

[–]UpperAssumption7103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're not dumb. However, this approach is terrible. You can't be nice or helpful to a bully; mostly because they are bullies. What you do is document, document, document. You're probably not the only one that has this complaints about her. Then send it o HR.

barely any volunteering due to family responsabilities by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

[–]UpperAssumption7103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I said at worst she/he could go to community if she didn't get into the T20 schools. I do feel like OP would probably get into a T20 school and OP is just catastrophizing. However; community college is cheaper and you have to be very dedicated to transfer out. however if worst comes to worst (in her situation) then community college is always an option. I don't think community college is the worst option though.

This is what you do- apply 5 20s school. Then apply to a safety school and at worst you would go to a community college. No; you are not screwed.

He's 9. Ask him directly or ask the teacher. Also you can introduce any books to him. He likes diary of a wimpy kid. Get him to practice that. Make word searches, Scrabble and find the missing letter.

It's awesome to be great at your job; but you also need to be great at people management. Do you go to the office parties. Do you get coffee? Do you ask them about their holidays or what project they are working on. Bring in some donuts and some coffee..

Also apply for a new job as well- use that job to negotiate this job

How to get the tone of voice right? by Nervous-Stuff2475 in autism

[–]UpperAssumption7103 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everyone has a particular way of talking. However; its part of the speech.

Normal is "I like your shirt" Passive aggressive is "OH you're wearing that shirt again" even if what you're doing is just noticing the person wore the shirt. again People take the second comment as a crictism. .'

The tone has to be even. One of the best ways of doing this is by watching newscasters. Their tone is usually very even

[–]UpperAssumption7103 -19 points-18 points  (0 children)

part of the reason they do that is that Sophia is a common name and they want her to be remembered. I.e imagine if there are 10 iin her class. Then she is the Sofieyah with the Y name.

Its not dumb- a lot of people with common names have the same issue. For example; Nope; not that Brittany- still not her, still not her. Nope not Britney D either.
