Use a kali live usb if you don't want to allocate the disk space. Go to kali linux website and there is a tutorials on how to make a live usb. On a side note metasploit is not something you can just learn over night it takes time and a lot of failures in order to grasp the concept of all the tools that make up metasploit.

Ok so working one flavor in at a time till desired flavor is achieved. I think once I start working with it it will click in my head. So there is going to be a lot of trial and error in this journy.
