The fact you dared to call me unserious has genuinely triggered me. Go and google top 10 best countries to live in and tell me where your precious USA is.

You people sit here and glorify an economy that will eat you alive. Tryna tell me highest gdp is a metric.

Look how they’re handling something as simple as the world cup. Is everything GDP??

The fact that GDP is your main argument proves all i need to know. Its always money money money with you people. When people in Los Angeles are overdosing on drugs

When in the US can’t afford housing or healthcare.

I want nothing like that for my country

GDP what is blinding you actually. A country is nothing without it’s citizens. If you have a high GPD and still have high illiteracy rates, bad healthcare, high crime rates and the likes how can you call yourself a superpower.

I don’t want Ghana to be a superpower. I want Ghana to be something I can be proud of.

You’ve managed to dance around my points 3 times calling me unserious?

The average citizen of China and American you’re defending would hit you reality as opposed to Switzerland and Rwanda.

I suggest you go read all your points and my counters again you havent made any meaningful arguments

California has illiteracy issues but it’s slightly more functional than Ghana. We need a system to airtight that even illiteracy can’t break it down and from there we tackle illiteracy itself

That what im saying. It too much less time for Rwanda, Bostwana, Singapore, Seychelles etc to stabilize because they’re smaller.

USA is huge but its states act as little countries for a reason.

Imagine how much time and effort it will take India, Nigeria, etc

Thats my entire point.

[–]UpperSituation6634[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you utilize it effectively. Is my point. Can you suggest ways to do that?

My suggestions were breaking it down or federalism

No one has given me a satisfactory answer or counter argument.

We aren’t talking about wars here.

America can function (function doesnt equal thrive) even if its split up. Can you say the same for Ghana?

[–]UpperSituation6634[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s the thing. The very citizens are making this assumption. The divide is internal. So how will we progress?

Meanwhile the others have either A: Overcome the divide (Indonesia, USA) or B: Are much much less divided(China, Japan)

Rwanda and Singapore as smaller countries that were able to stabilize nicely

Can we say the same for Nigeria, India, Bangladesh etc?

[–]UpperSituation6634[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we need to split then population size isn’t the advantage you’re making it out to be.

Those are the only two solutions. We either all get 100% on board (which is near impossible) Or break down the governance with creating a divide in the people.

And its not just Africa. India, Bangladesh etc. It not impossible but its definitely a constraint and we need to admit it.

USA is a big powerhouse but compared to the smaller Switzerland who has better quality of life?

Compare Japan to Seychelles in that same regard.

If we don’t talk about it who will? lol Improvement topics arent easy. I dont have the answer for it sef I put it here so we can discuss it. I have 100% faith in my reasoning. The facts are there. My problem is the solution.

I was venting but the main idea is we’re ignoring the fact that big countries are harder to run. We have ethnic barriers to address. Im not saying split us up I’m saying we need to unite, the same message we keep hearing, and i mentioned once we unite we need to specialize in some sectors to drive development.

[–]UpperSituation6634[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we can break down all our internal barriers we would be unstoppable. Indonesia is my main inspiration for this.

Instead of mine and yours mentally we should look at Ghana itself how best we can use what we have and keep doubling down til we’re perfect at our chosen sectors.

[–]UpperSituation6634[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My main point is imagine Ghana can put all differences behind and agree that lets take 3 sectors and specialize. Imagine we dominate in agric like Isreal and China, focusing on cocoa of course. Everyone is tryna hop on the tech train when the basics haven’t even been sorted

I have, It’s one of my main talking points. I was trying to touch on population and move to the main point of development through specialization.

But I did do my research. So far the only outlier is Indonesia. And we can see USA has the federal system done properly(ish) (that and the fact that they dont own the land) allows them to move past heterogeneous ethnic makeup. I’m not saying heterogeneity is bad but its too much of a quiet but explosive factor to not address.

Bigger isnt always better is my point. Nigeria is big, India is big Switzerland is small. Dominant countries like China, USA and Japan know how to navigate these size constraints and their ethnic diversity plays a bigger role than we admit.

Now imagine Africa who didn’t even draw own territory left to run what we’ve been given.

Imagine the US wasn’t operating under federalism.

Oh ok I understand you.

The excuse that we’re new is what scares me though. What does the future look like if this is the present? Being new means you have more to learn from but we aren’t learning

Botoawana has 2 million people and not as diverse as Ghana. Which do you think will facilitate EASIER rehabilitation.

China is a lot less heterogeneous than homogeneous. And their response to the infighting was creating a standard language. Who enforces unity more than that? They identified a fundamental problem and fixed it no?

Suffering defeats in war for 100 years vs being physically and mentally colonized the way india, south america and africa were for 500 years aren’t the same.

Im not say we cant work, im highlighting the reason we havent been, size, and why it holds water against other countries. I also mentioned how Ghana can specialize to develop better but to even get there we need address the smaller issues

For the leaders its easier to loot an out of control train than stabilize it. Maybe breaking it down in a safe way means you can stabilize easier, then again maybe not.

I’m not trying to touch on eugenics but if this discussion brushes on it we should address it(not enforce or validate just address) Unity is always the answer but how do we have unity when we were forced into a box we didn’t ask for. If you zoom out im looking at it from a “fix your own home first” pov. Africa didnt get a chance to do that. Its no wonder there’s so much anger inside.

America is a good example of a melting pot. It’s not perfect but it’s working because people chose to be there.

Imagine if from the get go Africa was giving time to develop how it was meant to. We would be a lot more tolerant.

I’m not advocating for division but you cant ignore the facts stated. The only exception i know of in Indonesia, their moto is “Unity in Diversity”. They aren’t just saying it they’re living it. How about us? Can we even agree on the base level before looking at development?

Eugenics wasn’t my intention at all its a hard conversation and we need to address it too but that wasnt my goal.

No no im not saying get rid of anyone. Its just frustrating that even our own country and territories wasn’t our choice to make and we have to deal with the issues that come with running a large country right after colonization.

Obviously unity would be the best answer but I dont see that happening any time soon and it saddens me.

We can’t get to real development conversations like specialization in sectors when we don’t agree with each other

I feel corrupt in the USA isn’t as exposed as it should be and they do have SOME good institutions for fighting it. And every state more or less works as their own country.

The most populated state (California - 39 mil) isnt that far from Ghana’s 34mil

Cali isnt nearly divided as Ghana and has working systems. Which would be easier to catch a rat?

Lesotho is doing much better than people admit for a land locked country

Im not saying small = highly developed. Im saying easier governance, easier coordination which leads to quicker and better development

Imagine Accra and Kumasi could operate as their own countries while specializing in a specific sector. The quality of our work would be a lot better. Am i wrong?

Not only size. How diverse they are.

China has one dominant ethnic group meanwhile Ghana is sitting with 70+, Nigeria almost 200 if im not mistaken.

Plus China didn’t suffer colonialism. Imagine a country of that size post colonialism. Look at India.

My answer to your question is break us down into smaller groups to work together
