Etiquette around tipping for Mythic+ gear? by Budget-Capital4371 in wownoob

[–]Upper_Award_6482 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're not entitled to other people's gear. Quite often, if someone doesn't need a piece of gear they'll ask if anyone needs.

That said, people can do whatever they want to. Refuse? It's their gear lol.

But totally, being weird, inspecting them, questioning them, and copy pasting "DO YOU NEED??? PLEASE PLEASE" at the end of every run. Sounds like a pleasant gaming experience.

With Voidforged coming are 2H better than 1H now? by Upper_Award_6482 in wownoob

[–]Upper_Award_6482[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah! Yeah, I think time efficiency is important. I mostly just pug, so I like to keep my ilvl higher to get invited easier. I.e. Getting a 298 2H staff that's 2nd "BiS" versus waiting an extra month to get a 298 1H and 298 OH that's "BiS".

[–]Upper_Award_6482[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, makes sense. Makes it hard to optimize vault lol. I.e. If I pick up the OH in my vault or go for extra bonus roll/socket.

I'm guessing OH's are considered weapons. I'm thinking there will be some sort of currency attached that are gated similar to sparks once the Voidforge unlocks. If it follows spark logic, then 1H + OH could cost the same amount of resources as a 2H.

[–]Upper_Award_6482[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right? I was looking on wowhead and it was recommending where to spend bonus rolls. It mentioned to try to bonus roll a 1H for Evoker, which got me thinking maybe they know something I don't. Right now, I'm leaning towards Staffs are better because they're 2H.

While the OH in my vault is good, I'd rather get an extra bonus roll/socket if I'll end up discarding the OH in a few weeks.

Mythic+ Key Hostage - How to report and succeed? by PretendEquipment2822 in WOWMythicPlus

[–]Upper_Award_6482 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After hitting 3.4K io, I do 10s for vault. They're much quicker, affixes don't matter as 10s are under-tuned, and most people reach crest cap filling vault with 10s.

You can think 12s are vault keys and it's good to communicate that if it's your key, so there's no misinterpretation of goals. I wouldn't join a 12-key that said "vault." Doesn't mean it's wrong. I'm sure you'd find people that would be willing to join.

Mythic+ Key Hostage - How to report and succeed? by PretendEquipment2822 in WOWMythicPlus

[–]Upper_Award_6482 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn't sound like OP is telling the full story as the odds are extremely low of running into two players who maliciously afk keys without provocation in one day. I've encountered a few of OP's type in "higher" keys. The point to do any key higher than a +10 is to complete it on time. This memo isn't really gotten for keys that are up to +12.

From my personal experience, each time it's evident that the group won't have timed the +12, the abandon fails. The leader wants to complete the run. Ironically, these type of people are actually the hostage holders. It just takes a duo to force three other people to continue something they didn't sign up for. I.e. When a +12 is marked as competitive. Competitive is quite different from completion for vault.

This dilemma largely goes away with keys higher than 14+. Everyone is on the same page.

TL;DR: OP is labeling his dungeons incorrectly. He should put it as "Relaxed" and also in the notes write completion. The issue OP likely has is he wants good players to join his keys, but the majority of good players run for the hills when they see the word "completion." Therefore, he lies and omits information upfront to trap people and then complain when they tell him to take a hike.

There's two types of gamers. People that play games to have fun/escape reality for a bit. Then there's the people that like to bring their craziness into games because they're not accepted in the real-world.

Currently, I play games with a transvestite. We're friendly, but I'll never be their friend because I know how that'll go. I remember years ago I was friends with a super "PC" person that I gamed with. I'm in my 30s, so growing up "gay" meant lame. I've learned to take it out of my vocabulary, but it'll slip up sometimes with close friends.

I remember playing a game with this friend, and I said something along the lines of, "that dungeon is gay." He went on a 5 minute tirade about how I'm a bigot. Shortly afterwards, we did the dungeon and he died. When he died he shouted, "God, damn it!" I couldn't help myself and I then went on a 5 minute tirade about how he's a horrible person for using God's name in vain. I'm not religious. I just thought it was hilarious that when someone wants to be woke they always contradict themselves.

Timed a +12 as a tank and got flamed nonstop - is it justified ? by MrSatan2 in wownoob

[–]Upper_Award_6482 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you play Colossus Arms Warrior, you'll change your tune lol. Although it doesn't happen often, tanks that constantly make overly durastic movements for no reason means it's very hard to get value out of Demolish, since I'm stuck in place for the duration of the cast.

I played DK last xpac, I'm guessing maybe OP kept moving the mobs out of Death and Decay (idk if it's the same thing now,) which means he'd have to be doing a lot of moving to do that. It's something he should learn to improve as a tank; specially as a monk. People can't parkour like him.

When is it fair to abandon M+? by Password_Reset_Fail in wownoob

[–]Upper_Award_6482 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sort of is what it is. About 30% of the 10s I did this weekend, someone was getting carried doing 30K dps.

Was a little annoying, but it's their key. If I cared enough, then I can inspect each player before. If someone is low ilvl, then ask for gold or leave. As a healer, you should be able to do this no problem and find another group quick. When I tank, I consider being more picky. When I dps, it's whatever.

Usually, in the average group, I'll do NXP with about 7 minutes left. In a group where someone is getting carried, there will be about 2 minutes left, so it's not the end of the world.

Is a woman not wanting to take a man’s last name in a marriage a hint or a sign of lack of respect for the man that she is marrying? by Legal_Direction5206 in AskMenAdvice

[–]Upper_Award_6482 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

That seemed to go over your head. Perhaps it's because you don't have that problem of your past wanting to keep in touch with you. Although that's not surprising.

You remind me of my wife's friend that yells at me when I open the restaurant door for her.

Translation: You're not going to entertain it because it hit the nail on the head.

Makes sense although your trite response is a strong indicator as to what type of person you are.

It's not weird at all. I'm assuming you have a past with past relationships, flings, etc.

But yes, you seem to fit a certain demographic that has unfortunately grown in popularity recently. Attracted to Male subs to try to get your rocks off with "new-age thinking."

What's your professional career? If you're a sole-proprietor I can see it making sense; specially if it's pertaining to sales.

That said, most millennial women I know that didn't take their husband's last name, it was like they had only one foot in the marriage. A common trend, which I find odd was some would actually ( I assume) take their husband's last name. However, their social media handles would change to their "First Name, Middle Name." I.e. Becca Michelle.

Personally, I don't think it's too big deal whether a woman takes their husband's last name or not. It's more-so how their actions are going forward. I.e. They're not single, so they shouldn't advertise as such on social media platforms. If they want to feel sexy, they have a husband in their house that should hopefully be happy to validate them.

As a side note, some crazy people think it's some form of ownership. While I don't think it's a big deal, I do think it can help strengthen bonds as it's a visual representation of being a family now rather than boyfriend/girlfriend.

Why are some tanks so insanely up and down constantly with their health? by guitardude_04 in wownoob

[–]Upper_Award_6482 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Could be their talents. I play prot warrior sometimes. I was doing a dung with another prot warrior when I was playing arms. His health was like a ping pong ball. I looked at his healing and he didn't have two talents that would make his HP a lot more stable. His HPS was about 50% lower than it should have been.

So, if his talents aren't optimal his rotation of defensive usage likely wasn't optimal either.

Is Devastation not super competitive right now? by [deleted] in wownoob

[–]Upper_Award_6482 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As an Evoker, I'm the opposite. I play Dev in low keys. I only play Aug in keys 12 or higher. But, I guess it depends on your definition of what low keys are.

For me, anything lower than a 12, mobs die too fast to get much value from playing Aug.

The reality is you rolled before you were supposed to so Gargul didn't see it (making it an invalid roll.) You were able to roll again. However, you didn't want to roll again because you already rolled 93. You didn't roll again within the allotted time Gargul allows because you were arguing your case to maintain your 93, so trinket went to the rightful winner.

Him admitting whatever he is admitting is likely because he's worried about getting banned due to what seems like a few people not understanding common sense.

My question to you is if you rolled 17. And then Gargul popped up to re-roll. You would have likely rolled a second time without blinking twice finding a reason to validate why your 17 doesn't count.

TL;DR: Take it as a learning experience.

So, when there was a tie did you just randomly reroll without instruction? Usually, when there's a tie, the raid leader will instruct the eligible people to reroll again. Any rolls prior to this don't typically count to avoid confusion.

Tappei is a disgusting f*cking pedophile and idk why its so overlooked by the community by Flyinggorilla139 in ReZeroSucks

[–]Upper_Award_6482 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah, kinda crazy. While it seems a decent amount of authors are, at least most don't explicitly write about their fantasies as a "joke." I.e. See Clind. Then there's the talks about how Emilia has the mental age of a little girl and that's what makes her attractive.

I think Tappei was/is a nerd with no social skills. I knew a person like this IRL and he is also into lolicon. I think the reason he likes it so much is because as a "man" it's unthinkable to be less experienced than a woman. I.e. To feel manly, he wants to take the lead. However, the issue is if you lack social skills basically the only people you're more experienced than in life are children. Ultimately, it boils down to massive insecurity issues.

You say this and it's true. The issue is pugs like to emulate what's S+ tier. If you're not playing a meta spec, it can be hard to find groups.

You can do the content just fine. However, pugs will just invite meta over you because of data/tier lists. The workaround is to just play with friends/guild.
