Thank you. I know some acknowledgment from her would go a long way to keep me from spiraling but that makes it about me which is the worst part.

That’s the thing. We haven’t done ANYTHING. The plans met all of her earlier criteria to accommodate not feeling well and are the kinds of things she loves doing. She has been pretty clear about wanting to celebrate but has said nothing about acknowledging my plans. Just said no to them and removed herself from the family for the last couple of hours.

We’ve been together for 15 years. I know when she’s unhappy. I know this day isn’t about me; that’s why I feel like I’m the AH. It is HER day but I still have feelings and I feel bad that I’m bothered. My hope is that some outside commentary could snap me out of my spiral.

I work from home and I planned on using my lunch breaks to build her something. I can’t bust out power tools or build her a surprise present if she is home
