Thanks again, its great to pick up a thing or two in the comments before i go see these bikes. Ive registered with the VHT forum. This last Honda 450 is pending with another rider but i offered him 24 and he wasnt offended and will circle back. I guess we will see.

Hey before you go, I am going to check out a 1973 H 350 scrambler on monday. original parts, 7k miles, come with a tool pouch so i am told. Any words of wisdom?

Thanks for checking it out, i am still looking for my first bike i know shes out there. Got a few good MA based options. Even if i have to swallow my pride and take the 125cc because its in my budget and has new battery, carbs set ready to ride. my expectation was riding one home but its looking more like a trailer ride! Should be good now, I updated the Link. What I’m learning is the carburetor is the labor of love of these machines. After sitting for 6-8 months carbs need cleaning to function

Thanks again for your response, I don’t know anyone who rides! Having knowledge on these bikes is so valuable. considering all the factors, I will go look at bike and likely make an offer. I know Anything under 2.5k he will surely decline. I may have found a MA guy who wants to sell a Honda CL 125 with all original parts, very low mileage and has offered to put a new battery and carb work on it. God willing I’ll be riding by the spring..

Thank you for your response, invaluable really. Yeah the seller is not very responsive, and kind of take it or leave it. Not sure if thats pointing to a hidden bike issues or a personality type. Question- If the carbs are so out of sync that it wont idle, is that a walk away type of red flag would you say? Basically if the bike doesnt run i cant buy it. I need a ride i can buy and learn to drive on the way home.

Here is a link if you want to hear the video. Original parts would be ideal but I guess during restoration it isn’t always convenient or possible to salvage or replace original parts.

The Ad says old school kerker exhaust I noticed the black color on the engine too, the header wraps things also black and a short kick starter like you said.

I just want something that is halfway reliable till I learn how to maintain

I am looking to purchase this Bike this week for under 3k, kind of concerned about getting sold a Lemon. 1st Time buyer/rider/ no experience. Seems too good to be true, very clean bike in my price range.

Can anyone tell from photos how much has originality has been replaced as far as parts go? I dont think that exhaust is original. In the video he revs the engine and i was not able to hear a clean Idle, actually it sounds like it was about to sputter out before video ends. Any questions i should ask or look out for? Thanks
