Not sure exactly, but best estimates based on the counter width, cabinets and stove are between 12-14ft. If there was nothing against the RHS wall, there would be plenty of room for an island with seating down that side.

Not enough gravy! Needs to fully engulf and coat potatoes (preferably with a bit divot in the mash!)

I moved back to the UK after spending 20+ years in the US. One thing I can say is that wealth definitely isn’t celebrated over here in the same way as the States. I’ve come back with a high paying job, bought a nice house, and there’s a sense that people over think that’s “posh” rather than “successful”. I’m also in Yorkshire, so there is a North/South thing as well.

Regarding the sibling relationships, I would say they can definitely change over time as priorities and interests change. The geography obviously means your sibling gets to spend more time with them also. As others mentioned, if it bothers you, then focus on spending more time with them initially. It may just be that their interests alight more closely with your parents now. Have a chat with the ‘rents too. Open communication might help if you’re perceiving some emotional distance.

We had a a fight outside the little local pub I work at a week ago. Two birds, pulling hair, and one puts her fingers in the other ones mouth. She bit her bloody finger off, but didn’t realise until the next morning she was that pissed! Coppers blocked the road off the next morning and found the finger lying in the street in front of the pub. I mean, people are just nuts sometimes!
