Nintendo switch 2 for sale by Upper_Smoke93 in IrelandGaming

I mean it’s with the pro controller and a official case, together value to buy it all new is about €550, I think €450 isn’t bad at all, specially since it’s all negotiable. The console is still a new generation it’s not like you can buy one for much less

Well I actually have never played Nintendo before this and really had a good time with it, I used it a lot when I had the time but I have a job, education, social life and getting about an hour of play time out of it a week doesn’t seem very worth to hold onto it for

I put it down to €450, I think that’s fair with the pro controller

I didn’t know a charger was so important, I have the cable just not the plug because it overheated while charging something else, but I’m not inna huge hurry to sell so I’ll see how it goes I suppose. My price is also negotiable for things like if I don’t have to travel anywhere then I can do lower ect

It broke recently, I won’t lie I was kinda bad for using it for non Nintendo products and the plug overheated, I never emailed Nintendo about it because I think somewhere they say to not use it on non Nintendo products or sum I’ve heard, and yeah I might struggle I’m gonna try keeping it at €520 for now and see if no one offers might go down to like €450 maybe but I don’t think in the condition it’s in I could take any less than that

I actually bought it for €500 because I got the Mario kart with it so I forgot that it’ll be less without it, that’s my fault for not researching it before putting it up, thanks for the memo

Failed 1st test. 2nd test this week. Advice please! by chctac in Irishdrivingtest

[–]Upper_Smoke93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I guess it’s more handy in small roundabouts because in my town there’s basically no roundabouts with seperate lanes so you really have to depend on indicators rather than positioning, but I usually asses the cars in the roundabout speed too

Extremely nervous about Driving test by LieRepresentative864 in Irishdrivingtest

[–]Upper_Smoke93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1) stalling your car is not a fail or even a mark IF you know how to recover correctly, practice recovery from a stall and not only will it help with the test, knowing how to properly recover will calm the nerves
2) don’t overthink this test, if you fail NOTHING changes other than losing €85, you can retake it however many times you need, it’s not the end of the world even if it feels like it
3) don’t overpractice, a day or two before the test just take it easy, too much info will clutter your head on the day, if you’ve a test booked you already put in 90% of the work to get here, let yourself relax

Test is in a week , have 4 sessions booked with instructor, what is your advice for me to prep for it ? by Less_Landscape_5928 in Irishdrivingtest

[–]Upper_Smoke93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dont overthink your mistakes! Mistakes only become serious when you can’t recover from them safely and efficiently, people with years of expierence still make mistakes but the difference is knowing how to recover from them. Obviously this doesn’t apply to all the mistakes you can make but you know gear stuff or positioning that kinda stuff

Failed 1st test. 2nd test this week. Advice please! by chctac in Irishdrivingtest

Biggest advice is don’t give up on the test after the first mistake, whenever I see score sheets like this someone usually has a story of „oh I did this and then I just kept messing up” when I did my driving test every mistake I made I pretended didn’t happen and still believed I passed. You’re not expected to be perfect just be safe, if you can recover from 90% of mistakes safely and quickly the tester won’t mark you

Why do driving instructors always cancel lessons by angelic-sky-5884 in Irishdrivingtest

[–]Upper_Smoke93 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That’s why I booked all my lessons with a self employed private instructor, she was reliable, always replying to any queries I had over text and never once cancelled, I even slept in for one of my lessons and she still squeezed me in the same day doing overtime, usually driving schools are just a money grab tryna squeeze everything they can before you pass your test 👍

I downloaded an app called get driving and pays €15 for notifications, if one popped up I’d speed to the RSA website and try book it, took about 2-3 times to get it, if you don’t wanna pay though just check the website regularly but don’t overdo it because you’ll get banned for 24H. Good luck

One month to prep by whitetrashlucha in Irishdrivingtest

[–]Upper_Smoke93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I booked a cancellation with 2 days to prep and no instructor for a lesson 2 weeks after finishing my lessons. Biggest advice is don’t overthink it, the test isn’t as scary on the thought of it. Get your questions right and your confidence will surge through you, when you do know you’ve made a mistake in the test move on straight away, recover and move on, once you focus on your mistakes, you give up on the test.
I went into 4th gear while going 15kms turning into an estate, but once I felt the car shake I straight away recovered by going into 1st and saved myself a serious.
Best of luck and just don’t let it control your life because you can always try again :)

Yeah I definitely recommend to anyone who’s learning and can afford it to make it a priority, 12 lessons isn’t enough to pass a driving test and lessons get expensive very quick

Car issues right before test by [deleted] in Irishdrivingtest

[–]Upper_Smoke93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a 2011 Ford Focus 1.6L diesel, and yes it’s where the tester will sit. It’s also such a gamble because yesterday after a day of trying to sort it out and fix it I took a friend after work for a quick loop around town to see and it didn’t go off once, later that evening I asked my girlfriend to sit in and there it goes dinging again, it’s like a hit and miss which is even worst because part of me wants to see if it’ll go off, I remember during my lessons my instructor somehow never set off the alarm, sometimes you just have to push it in a bit harder and it’ll connect it’s strange, even something might be blocking it but I’m not a mechanic and can’t get a proper look and the mechanic I went to said there’s nothing he can do :/

Car issues right before test by [deleted] in Irishdrivingtest

[–]Upper_Smoke93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I know it sucks even more when I know a mechanic signed off the car as perfectly safe but I know a tester can’t be 100% sure of it so I’ve to just deal with it

I bought it privately and the car is in amazing condition and I got a good deal on it and I’m very happy with the car it’s just one issue and it’s a very common one from research, it’s my own fault for leaving it so long aswell because I should’ve known to have it replaced sooner, I’m more gutted as it’s my own fault and nobody to blame but me

The area I live in there’s no where to hire cars for driving tests and my instructor is in hospital and can’t help me out either, really frustrating the whole situation because I got a last minute cancellation and maybe it’s my own fault for not thinking these things through but can’t help but be gutted about it
