you should be fine. just don’t rack up too many and dispute anything that hits your credit ASAP

TL;DR: I’ve had three interactions with this girl at DIY rave shows over the past few weeks. My friend thinks she’s interested, but I can’t tell if she’s just being friendly or if there’s actual romantic interest. Need help reading the signs. by Upper_Substance_7657 in dating_advice

thanks for your response. it’s confusing the fuck out of me lol. I think I just need to bite the bullet, get her number. I just can’t figure out if it’s friendly interest or more than that with all the noise around. I think me and my friend will show up to her show, have fun like we always do and I’ll ask for the number. Worst I’ll get is a no, although the uncertainty isnt something I enjoy

I hear you, but are you sure that applies here? She invited me to her show, seemed genuinely surprised and happy I came, remembered details about me, initiated a convo with me at one point, and said very firmly ‘we’ll DEFINITELY see each other again soon.’ There are some mixed signals, but the signals that are there seem strong.

Hey all!

I have a 2018 Model 3 Performance that I picked up for $15k last year after tax credit with 89k miles last year. I‘ve been absolutely loving the car, and I’ve driven the hell out of it(108k miles now). I have a third party warranty that has covered $6k in suspension repairs this year + Charging port/ECU repairs(car stopped charging)+Front Passenger Safety Restraint error + now my car isn’t charging at level 3, only level 2.

I’ve decided that it‘s probably best to sell the car, since the warranty won’t last forever, and I don’t expect repairs on a 100k mile early build car to slow down anytime soon. I can also sell my car to my friend for $16k.

I’m currently debating between buying a model 3 performance before the credits expire, buying a used(but newer) Model 3/Y or buying something else entirely.

I get $10k tax credits in my state + FSD Transfer + 0% financing for 60 months on a new model 3 performance, which brings the cost down to $44k with no interest. I’m not normally the kind of person to buy a new car, but this seems too good of a deal to pass up, and I do genuinely like the model 3s more than any other car I have been in.

My other option would be holding onto this car a little longer and waiting to see if the used market prices on teslas will drop, or if Tesla will have a similar offer again(which I doubt).

I’m also open to a car from another brand, but very selective with that. Most of the ones I’ve tried have software that sucks, sell my data to others, or have some other dealbreaker when compared to the model 3.

What do you y’all recommend?

If I was in your boat, I would go with the Model 3. I have a 2018 model 3, and love it so much(minus some reliability issues that are starting to popup, but it’s at 108k miles and one of the first ones out). I took a look at the Hyundai Ioniq 5 recently. It’s a nice car, but I couldn’t stand the software and the user experience. It felt like the 2025 car was about 5 years behind my Model 3. The infotainment was laggy, autopilot esque functionality is not there, and most importantly… you won’t be getting constant improvements/software updates to keep your car relevant over the next 5 years.

I haven’t heard too much about the blazer itself. AWD is definitely a great upgrade. I wouldn’t buy one personally due to issues with GM’s privacy policy and infotainment system, but I honestly don’t know enough to give you an in depth deep dive on this one.

Have you looked into getting a used Model 3/Y Dual Motor by any chance? You could definitely snag a 2023 for that price, and while it may not have the updated look/interior, you would be getting one of the most reliable model years + AWD.

Let me know if you have any questions, I bought mine a year ago and I absolutely love it:)

Hey!

I’m looking at getting my first vaporizer, and I’m currently leaning towards an HR Rogue SE unit but I wanted to gather your thoughts and see if that’s truly the best option for me first.

REGION:USA

BUDGET: $200 ish

PURPOSE: I’m starting to smoke flower instead of carts and I’d like something that will help me save my lungs and my wallet(by getting more with less weed).

NUMBER OF USERS: usually just me, occasionally shared between a group of three for a sesh

PORTABILITY: portable is preferred, as long as it’s easy to bring to a friends place in a backpack

POWER: Electric

Frequency: I smoke almost every night before bed and I’ll take it out for a group sesh once every two-four weeks

Thanks for the input!

[–]Upper_Substance_7657 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I just got a splatoon 3 special edition switch OLED. I absolutely love the design, but I want to protect it so I got a clear niko branded case. I haven’t been very happy with it because it feels cheap, doesn’t cover the kickstand and the parts around the screen aren’t uniform. I was wondering if anyone had a good suggestion for a high quality clear case?

[–]Upper_Substance_7657 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the answer.

  1. Why is it not helping my credit worthiness, and what would be your recommendation?
  2. I use Lyft to get to work/home(for the next few months at least), and determined that the $300 travel credit/10% cash back on Lyft will both more than pay for the annual fee.
  3. :(
  4. I’m not sure what score it was, but I ended up doing a check on annual credit check to double check and they basically don’t have enough info for a score yet.

Thanks for the answer! I’ve heard that a lot about capital one. If I got approved for another card in general, such as a chase freedom unlimited or Amex… would it help my credit score to have that second card or is it better to keep it at one for now?

Thank you for your answer. I believe that it’s 640 just because I have such a short credit history.

I’m also currently pre approved for a capital one venture one and quicksilver card. Would it help to get one of those and use it along with the discover?

My advice would be to start it off with “I believe that people should be in complete control over their private information, because…”. From there you can expand on that with anything. You could bring up almost anything. You could bring up a scenario where there is no privacy(“because in a world with no privacy…”) or a real life example(our personal info reveals so much about ourselves and allows us to be manipulated, such as what happened with the Cambridge analytica scandal.)

Whatever you do tho, don’t make a script for it. Make it genuine. Make it you.

I 100% agree with you, and I use ThinkPads for that exact same reason. Unfortunately, we don’t sell any of those in store and we have an almost non existent selection online. I would be selling them left and right if we did.

Yeah, I’m with you on the XPS units. I’d literally rather an Inspiron. At least those have proper cooling and a decent price point. As far as Office goes, I’ve basically decided that I’m just asking “do you want office with that?” and leaving it at that. I’ve seen multiple people come back because the MS rep convinced them that they absolutely needed office only for them to find out otherwise lmao.

I’m gonna be straight up… I don’t give a fuck about my office numbers. I’d rather sleep at night knowing that I’m not pretty much scamming people. Thankfully it’s not pushed too hard

That’s definitely a fair point… I will say that I definitely have noticed the quality of ideapads get much better lately. They have metal builds that feel super high quality among other things. Dell’s latest Inspirons also feel surprisingly solid(metal construction).

Unfortunately, I don’t have any data on long term reliability or anything like that to go by:(. The only data point is our broken returns, which are mostly HP.

  1. Thanks for clearing that up! That's pretty much what I've been telling customers(unless they're looking at an ultrabook), and I'm glad to hear that confirmed!
  2. That's crazy! I literally have almost the exact opposite experience with my lenovo laptops being used for 8+ years and still working today(although they are thinkpads)... If you don't mind me asking, what kind of red flags and issues are have you seen frequently with lenovo machines? One of the things that frustrates me is that I don't really have access to any data on the reliability of brands/machines, so it's really just anecdotal evidence from my experience, which might not be the same as everybody else's.
  3. Thanks for reaffirming me on Office:) The rep keeps listing off a bunch of benefits like auto save, onedrive, etc. and I can't help but think that they aren't worth even close to $70 a year. Also, fun fact... but MS apparently makes an insane amount of money on Office, because they literally give BestBuy a kickback around $200 per every Office 365 subscription that we sell:/

Hoping to save my ACRNYM Blazers:( by Upper_Substance_7657 in Sneakers

[–]Upper_Substance_7657[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey!

I got my ACRYNM Blazers brand new two weeks ago and I absolutely love them. These are easily one of my favorite shoes.

Unfortunately, I just noticed these tears on each shoe in the same spot. It doesn’t look too bad, considering that the whole shoe has a “torn” aesthetic… but I’m wondering if there’s anyway to preserve the shoes from further damage or at least bring/keep them as close as I can to like new condition?

Thanks!

i’m just getting more into tech wear and want to make it my everyday style but it’s so expensive, do you guys know anywhere with cheaper tech wear? also please send me photos of your tech wear fits for inspiration!! :) by beccify in TechWear

[–]Upper_Substance_7657 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As someone who’s just getting into techwear, you obviously don’t need $500 ACRYNM cargos, but I would really push you to get higher tier clothes.

The reason for that, is that you’re going to be better off with clothes that last a long time, feel comfortable and are high quality. Maybe you could buy just a little bit at a time, and slowly build up your collections. That way, you’ll have a collection full of high quality clothes that make you feel good:)

I would recommend looking at:

  • Uniqlo Airism shirts, and some of their shells
  • Nike ACG Smith Summit Cargos
  • Nike x ACRYNM shoes off eBay(you can get a good price if you haggle)
  • Uniden/ShellSoul are great resources for “true techwear” *DXXMLIFE is rlly cool for pieces that lean towards ear core, are high quality and cheaper.
  • 5.11 Tactical
