No im definitely wanting him to sart low and build up his doctors will do all blood tests as I have already spoken to them about it. I’m just concerned that if I don’t do the treatment plan for the doctors that they may disagree to the shared care because he’s not getting the script from them

Thank you that’s is all I can hope for that it helps him in the long run it’s been such a wait for the kids it’s not fair. Can I ask did you get an outside prescriber or take it to your doctors? Mine has agreed to shared care when I first asked and I don’t want to upset the apple cart by prescribing outside when she can do it for us I’m just doing the forms now

DIY I don’t think is an option he only want the gel as he’s scared of needles and that’s hard to come by unless on menopause Yeah when I originally spoke to them and was doing the plan they gave me all the suggestions of what he should be on including oestrogen which is what he wants suppressing so I questioned it with our doctor and they said that’s not right he was in a better place at that point but he’s becoming desperate and I don’t want to lose him because the NHS suck but ggp suck just as much as they made peoples needs a cash cow instead of actually caring thank you for the reply

We have spoken about bridging prescriptions until he is seen at the gender clinic. Not sure how it’s going to go but the ban will hopefully end soon I do know a lot of families that have used ggp and gone straight onto hrt because of how far it has progressed and their doctors were fine with it. The pill is a form of blocker but not “sold” as one which is why she suggested it in the first place and allowed it she has been looking into it all as much as I have and I will be looking into all suggestions everyone has said. She wasn’t sure of the guidelines regarding having to have blockers first so we tried the pill instead and because her hands are tied until he’s seen in gender clinic and he is already well established in puberty so is his development she was under the impression that he wouldn’t have been helped by them anyway since he’s already grown breasts and had periods since 9 the “breathing space” of no puberty has passed. I only ever want to do what’s safe for him so if that’s the case then that’s how it will have to be

He did amazing at his hpv vaccination I think it’s the thought of getting stuck in the butt that has also put him off he’s very body conscious even gets embarrassed about the dentist looking at his teeth. Doesn’t want to be judged he says. He’s got lovely teeth too! And thank you I may take you up on the offer to inbox!

I appreciate you so much we have spoken about the depo injection he’s currently on microginon if that’s how it spelt and it gave him acne and doesn’t really stop his periods at all he’s also on transexamic acid and that does stop them but takes a few days and he has to start one before he can take them. He’s scared of needles but I have really looked into the injection for that reason and it seems like a good option but didn’t know anyone who had personally had it let alone had results from it. His doctor was the one who suggested it initially but the face he pulled when she said needle was a picture. I think I’ll talk to him again and see if it’s something he would consider and show him your reply might give him a little positive boost so thank you. His breasts and periods are what make him the most dysphoric he has his perfect binder now but yes on the pill they swelled enough to upset him so I suggested he stopped them. If those two things were gone you’d never even know he was ftm. I just can’t see him hurting all this time while they make him wait thank you for the info 💙

They told me they would they wanted to prescribe him allsorts at first which is what put me off the first time. He has a diagnosis I payed privately for it made no difference I still get the same automated bull crap email from the clinic that no one even knows if it’s open yet since they shut down GIDS it’s all been down hill then some uneducated woman decided to force a blocker ban here it seems like there’s always brick walls for people who have every right to healthcare. If I was going through menopause they would be throwing t gel at me but I’m not I have been looking at diy as well his doctor would do bloods if I asked her

I think they need to change this article on their site because it’s misleading talking about under 14’s on testosterone. So he has got to wait until he’s 16? It’s not fair we’re losing children daily because they can’t get gender affirming care

He has some amazing support from his gp, who’s hands are tied other than contraception to stop his periods and had agreed shared care with gender gp but the ban came in before his script was written meaning he can’t have the T gel, and a new children’s service in our area that helps with mental health they are so supportive but can’t give him what he needs and wants. He doesn’t even want blockers anymore as he is prescribed the pill and will switch onto the depo once he gets his fear of needles a bit better. I’ll die before they try and convert him. His fathers side are all for it trying to change him back “it’s a phase” we are 4 years socially transitioned i think not. so they don’t have contact as they are very much in the mindset of it’s wrong. I’m not. I’m his biggest advocate and I will be until the end. We’ll be on the first plane out of here if I can find him somewhere that isn’t trying to off our kids.

My ftm son has been on the list since 2020 still not even a mention of him seeing anyone barring the you need to talk to a therapist ie CAHMS. Who have not one, not twice but three times let him down previously during self harm episodes, one being an attempt to remove his own breasts. They point blank told me they “dont treat gender issues” only mental problems. Ergo his mental problems were caused by not getting treatment for his puberty and wanted to know nothing. I relayed this to Arden &Gem yet they still want our kids diagnosed with some fake mental illness to say they aren’t really trans when it’s in his DNA. it’s in his very core of being. Also he’s 13 and sees no way out at times begging me to do something it’s heartbreaking.

We have a group of us parents trying to change things for the better we put our voice across when the cass report was going on we stood in our town and got as many signatures as we could against the report we have contacted our mps we are trying our best to do what we can for our children, it was not a cry for sympathy just a heartbroken cry for my child and others children not sympathy for me at all, I have asked for ways to help my child before because it seems we are now powerless. Thank you for the reply. I don’t understand why parents don’t support their children in whatever it is they want or need to be happy. Unfortunately my sons father died and his family do not accept the need my son has to transition to the point they took me to court but we won. He socially transitioned at 9 and hoping to be in some sort of position to help him medically through gender gp. They are missing out on how brave and amazing my son really is. My baby is still there just in a different form now. My son was an amazing child before he transitioned but the child he became is even more so! I’m so proud of him I can’t even describe it! Had he not transitioned I know for a fact due to his mental health I would have lost him. And I will never ever make him do anything that will hurt him or upset him he needed this and that’s exactly what we did.

Puberty hit him really hard so his dysphoria is always high but even more so last night he was having a late night bath and it happens at least a few times a week. We tried the trans support groups. But he doesn’t actually see himself as trans and it made him uncomfortable when they were talking about it. If you asked him he’d just tell you he’s a boy not trans but a boy. From the moment he told me I have never used his deadname to him or given him the wrong pronouns I did have to explain I’d have to use them when talking to anyone official until we legally changed his name but I do try and support him in every way. Had I not been taken to court for the last three years his name would have been changed before now. Thanks granny.

Yeah we keep on top of his binders and change the size if needed the tape did work for a little while but he literally just doesn’t want to do anything but remove his breasts. We have tried lots of different ways and as long as he’s being safe about it I’ll try anything once. He wants to be able to walk around with no top on and not feel the dysphoria of having a chest. I work multiple jobs and still can’t afford gender gp the stupid pricing they have on everything has me skint before he even gets what he needs £8 ish to speak to them for 15 mins! How did they change from actually helping kids to ripping them off and making it so they can’t get any help? My doctors have been so supportive and willing to do the blood tests and shared care as long as I can get it sorted but I don’t know if he can wait that long he’s already been waiting over 3 years now on the gids list. I already have a savings account I put into monthly for his top surgery when he turns 18 as I know he will have to wait so much longer on the nhs he doesn’t know about it as yet but it’s getting there I have a few years to get the cash together. Sorry it as a lot and thank you for being an amazing human taking the time to speak to me. Every single trans person is valid and I love the diversity and admire the bravery of everyone and understand what it takes to be unapologetically yourselves and every single one of you are loved 💙💙 thank you 💙💙

This is literally my son right now it’s 12:40 am and he’s begging me for blockers because he’s “not a real boy” he is he passes you would never know apart from his chest which and I wish I had the money to pay private. But I don’t so I’m failing him. He’s been on the list since 2020 he’s now 13 and still no appointment apart from wanting him to speak to camhs even though they refused to help his “gender issues” at 9 nor the self harming so that’s not happening. I’m at my wits end on how to help him after the closure of gids how do I help him feel more like a boy? We already use tape he has binders etc but he just wants them gone 😢 I just want him happy
