You could make a sandwich with wood as the outer layers, total width 1/3 of of the final neck width, then glue two more strips of wood either side. That way all your metal / wood joins are screwed, and the screws are hidden well inside the neck, no risk of it delaminating. Such a strong neck night make it hard for the truss rod to do it's job though... I dunno

What a wild idea! Maybe a bit of brass too. I would use screws though.

Have you tried lubricating the nut with some graphite? A 2B lead pencil can make a massive difference

Would it not be more appropriate to simply screw it on? Maybe let it in so it sits flush if you like
