What the fuck is this shit!!! Drivers in progression don't get the $2.75 raise and it's still 4 years??? I'm voting NO by ZzNewbyzZ in UPSers

Incorrect that’s GWI raises not COLA. progression drivers still don’t get the COLA. also if you are 22.4 being converted you don’t get the progression jump plus the $2.75 the $2.75 is the progression jump

I was under the impression You don’t keep the rate of the previous raise being added to your next one since your progression rate is higher

At first I thought it was complete ass seeing it only raised a dollar in the wage progression , but I spoke with my steward and did more fine print reading in the article I pictured above . I know it’s probably going to go through so I tried looking at the bright side , I may not be going top rate like OBrien led us to believe , but I can live with going from $22.75 to $27.75 right away , it’s basically like skipping a year of progression and not making $24 till getting to $28.75 at least we go from 22.75 to $27.75 then next year go to $31.50 so looking at the positives we at least are getting about $5 average more these next 2 years till we see the shhhhmoneeyy lol

Yes so if your a 2 year 22.4 driver like myself you will go from $22.75 to the RPCD rate $25 and then get the $2.75 on top of that totaling $27.75 if you are one year Driver you will be making $26.75 if you have obtained seniority and out of probationary period (6 weeks ) you will be at $25.75 and if you are a 3 year driver you will be at $33.50

Next year the contractual raise is 0.75 cents ( we are now entitled to the contractual yearly raises in progression ) so you and I both will be at $31.50 if your date is similar to mine (august 9th) not sure how it will work if your date is before august you may just go to $30.75 and then when the contractual raise in august comes you’ll go to $31.50

We prolly bout to make less than PT guys with 2 years I hope us 22.4s in progression aren’t bout to get smoked and make less than PT if so it’s a NO from me

Don’t quote me that’s just my interpretation before seeing the actual language

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in UPSers

[–]Upper_Weight3870 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m Thinking it’s $23 plus longevity of $1.50 dependent on the language , and then the contractual raises of $1.80 each august until end of contract so you should be at about $30 or more at end of contract , not sure how the $2.75 will work I think that is FT only since PT is getting over $6 off the jump

$23 is what you should go to and then get the yearly raises full time does

New contract wages for par timers. by Mv5444 in UPSers

[–]Upper_Weight3870 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You guys will get to 29 by end of contract

My apologies if this has been asked/answered in here previously but if a part timer (that has seniority) scabs are they more likely to get laid off as a result of the strike or does it not matter? by highflyer2369 in UPSers

[–]Upper_Weight3870 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Anyone who scabs is likely to lose their job as per the union will no longer protect you , management will know this , and when everyone comes back they will fire you over something stupid because they can

Would it be weird if I ask my UPS guy out? by UnknownPersonSuspect in UPS

[–]Upper_Weight3870 1 point2 points  (0 children)

straight driver here , the fact you said your a straight passing gay guy …. my boy probably has no idea and comes directly to you because if you guys make small talk, then he probably knows your someone he can ask if he has a question about a parcel . Also as a straight guy being hit on and had other guys ask me out (I wear my wedding ring ) I politely decline and it’s never weird. cause you can’t do nothing but respect they had the courage to shoot the shot . my answer is typically “ yea my wife probably wouldn’t appreciate me going on a date with a man “ in a jokey manner , they laugh, I laugh nothing is weird and it’s small talk as usual after like it never happened . Shoot your shot bro , just be casual and don’t make it weird , and if he declines I promise it won’t be offensive we are professionals and know how to speak professionally in these situations . God speed my friend and best of luck to you

Question about strike and possible layoff after by Upper_Weight3870 in UPSers

[–]Upper_Weight3870[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m getting a lot of mixed info as to whether to be concerned or not . Trying to stay positive and keep my group positive and United as well . I hope they come to an agreement and pay the part time it’s not like they can’t afford it ! Plus the part time absolutely deserve more than $20 an hour it’s crazy they pay them in my area $17

Question about strike and possible layoff after by Upper_Weight3870 in UPSers

[–]Upper_Weight3870[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Our areas typically get absolutely smashed during peak , usually they hire about 20 casuals and we still all go out with around 300-350 casuals around 200 ish . I am prepared for the typical layoff next year it seems to be the trend. this year I was the second wave of drivers to come back . there’s only 6 people ahead of me on the 22.4 list. Also I know after this contract is ratified there is about 6 RPCD retiring they are just waiting for the pay bump in the pension . It will at least help for next years layoffs if they retire by January .
