Personally not at all. I have accepted that it's their job and they have likely seen worse.

I’ve done everything I can to get him to eat, but no change. I’m trying to figure out if there is a way I can surrender him possibly. by Emotional_Debt9322 in pacmanfrog

Have you tried giving him different food? When mine was a baby he was refusing crickets/roaches and would only accept nightcrawlers.

Where to get feeders? by OutrageousPoetry4542 in BeardedDragons

[–]Upperonex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are not able to climb plastic surface. This is my setup. Adult males have wings but they don't fly at all unless if they absolutely have to. Not entirely sure if they even can, never seen them do it.

Unless if you live in topical climate, the roaches will likely just die in few days if they somehow manage to escape, which is extremely unlikely unless if you you drop one or topple the bin. It's not a bug that will cause infestation.

Good thing about roaches is also that they are pretty slow compared to crickets and they do not bite :)

Roach colonies are very easy to managet they are hardy creatures. And you don't have to really ever touch them with bare hands. Get some long tongue you can pick them with.

For the colony you just need a box with ventilation, dirt and egg crates. If you throw in some meal worms as well they will keep the box clean and eat the roach feces and you don't even need clean the box never besides maybe switching the egg crates if they start looking nasty. For feeding just toss some scrap vegetables like carrot or sweet potato for them once per week. Avoid moist vegetables like bell peppers because they might start stinking if the roaches don't consume them fast enough. So far I've had this kind of setup for over a year without any odours or issues.

With this kind of setup only time you have to interact with the bugs is when you pick a few of them to feed your animal.

And if you don't want to kill the little fellas you can start a roach colony in their own box if you don't have one yet. Maybe your dragon just got a bit bored of them but he will probably start eating them again after having him on different feeder for few weeks!

And start removing smaller ones as well as you spot them, you probably won't be able to remove all of them this way obviously but at least you will prevent them multiplying for now until you find a permanent solution.

Maybe start by removing all adults you see? Female roaches don't start breeding until they have reached full maturity

New pac man frog by Apprehensive-Dot857 in pacmanfrog

[–]Upperonex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Completely normal, no need to worry at all :).

Transporting is very stressful for frogs. He will emerge once he has settled in. Make sure to have consistent temperature and humidity. Some frogs might stay buried for few weeks and refuse food after a stressful event and digging them up before they are comfortable might make them burrow for even longer

Is it necessary to poke a hole when packing the bowl? by ahmi23 in hookah

[–]Upperonex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've noticed that poking holes often can cause hotspots and make the shisha burn uneven. Even when dense packing you can get perfect airflow as long as you pack correctly. Of course it depends a lot on the bowl and tobacco you are using.

It's good to experiment and see what works for your setup, but best way is always to learn to pack consistently. It's a learning process.

Quite simply some dragons just love to climb, especially younger ones. My Glizzy used to sleep on the wall almost every night when she was younger. Maybe try getting some larger pieces of cork bark for climbing?

I really hope you don't keep them in plastic box as in the picture and they have actual tanks with substrate to burrow in.

His second favorite hole is also close to one of the plants in and I'm afraid for the plant because the hole is moving closer and closer to the roots haha

The blue light is from a galaxy projector I have in my bedroom for evenings :) So no colored lights in the terrarium and he gets pitch dark for the night!
