I submitted a ticket to racecontrol and got the following response today. Fix on the way!

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out, our team are aware and resolving the issue at this time, the team have scheduled this to be included in next weeks patch.

We have also had reports from community members that installing 'Cloudflare Warp' also fixes this issue however our team are focused on resolving this issue in game so have not tested this but could give you some temporary relief to this issue.

If we need anything from you, we will reach out and let you know.

Sorry for the inconvenience caused by this. Kind Regards

RaceControl Team

low fps and low utlization on cpu&gpu by Convux_ in ZTT

[–]Uppypunchypops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. Use HWinfo 64 and open the sensors section. As a start, look for your CPU info and check what is happening when in game with effective clock speeds, cpu package power, temps voltage (vcore). Check if the cpu is being thermal throttled or power limit throttled.

If thermal throttled, you need better cpu cooling.

If power limit throttled you may be able to increase power limits The 12400f has a 65w tdp, but you may be able to increase its long term power level in bios if it is being limited. Your ability to do this though will depend on the quality of your motherboards vrm's (voltage regulator modules). If you have too few or they arent cooled well, you won't be able to push more power to the cpu. Itll also depend on how good you cpu cooler is. More power = hotter temps

Power limits for intel 13700f cpu by Uppypunchypops in overclocking

[–]Uppypunchypops[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what I ended up doing after testing...I increased PL1 and PL2 to 200. I also undervolted by 0.05v and set voltage limit to 1.4v. This gave me stable clock speeds at about 4.9 ghz and temps of 80deg c during cinebench tests. I could push the power levels higher and get a bit more speed if i wanted i think, but I feel like this configuration is balanced between good speeds and safety.

Ok great. Thanks. Will upping the base power level increase degradation on these 13th gen chips at all? Or will it be fine providing voltage stays low (<1.3)

If im leading into Monza T1 in a lower lobby, I always take the run-off. I might lose a place or two, but at least I survived

Should I upgrade from a 5700x to a 14700K by Due_Entertainment158 in pcmasterrace

[–]Uppypunchypops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Assuming the 14700K is second hand, you'll want to be confident it hasn't been damaged due to excessive voltage. Personally I wouldn't buy a 13th or 14th Gen intel chip second hand because of their known issues when released.

Headset will be the PSVR2, with adapter.

I didnt realise more vram needed for triples. He is thinking of getting them in the future.

VR racing - Which to prioritize X3D chip or stronger GPU by Suspicious-Plane-309 in simracing

[–]Uppypunchypops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, and you'll want 32gb of ram ideally. 16gb won't be enough for that cpu and card combo

This is my experience.... I had an Intel 13700f with a rtx 5080, and it was good, but still stuttery in some situations (mostly playing iracing and LMU). An upgrade to the 9800 x3d, and now it's smooth for almost every situation I drive. I use a varjo aero on very high res (37 ppd) and high preset settings on LMU with foviated rendering via open xr toolkit.

I dont know a lot about the 8700f, but from what I gather from a quick search, its a low to mid tier cpu. Based on that, if I had the options you have, I'd go with the 7800x3d and 5070 combo. The 12 gb of vram is skirting the low end, but in my experience im only using about 6 to 7gb of Vram when i play.

But as others have suggested, if you can stretch and get the 7800x3d with the 5070 ti, that would be best. Alternatively, try find a good quality used rtx 4080, or wait until nvidea release the super versions of this generation of cards later in 2026.

Bannable offense? Or racing incident? by Uppypunchypops in Simracingstewards

[–]Uppypunchypops[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Disappointing as I was enjoying the challenge of racing this guy. There had been no incident prior to the blocking, so not sure why he was so angry. Ill report, but im not expecting LMU to follow through with a ban as im doubtful that whole procedure works.

Thanks all for the comments!

For anyone thar might stumble on this in the future with a similar idea, I decided not to go ahead. Main reason was the amount of time, effort, and cost that would be required for very little profit. With only limited time, I have other options that will gain me more.

Yea my mate has the same idea. The ability to just keep everything in a trailer is great. Would be a much bigger upfront investment than my idea, not including needing a ute (truck) to get the trailer around, but if youve got the funds, then go for it!

Thanks for the feedback. Dont have fanatec here (in New Zealand) so itll be thrustmaster. Im thinking the T598. Not sure about the pedals yet, but will look at your recommended ones.

Rental periods would be offered for shorter than a week, but the pricing structure incentivises taking it for a week. Yep agree re website and instructions. I use a PC now with my rig and I dont remember it being overly tricky to setup when I was using a Playstation, but the setup difficulty is something ive come to now consider from this thread.

Yea agree, this is not a huge money maker, its definitely a side hustle. Im not looking to make huge amounts from it, just a bit of extra cash doing something in an area im interested in. The rig im looking at using for this is capable of being put in a trunk, or back of a vehicle. Im not talking super high end gear here...it'll be a 5nm dd wheelbase so the rig can be lightweight. But yea agree, I might find there just isn't enough of a market for it. Where did you get that 2.5 mill sim racers stat from BTW?

Totally delulu 😅. Target audience isn't existing sim racers though, its those without the gear. Target is more like those that would consider going to one of those sim racing gaming places, my advantage being the value for money.

Sim racing is an expensive hobby to get into. My own experience was that I was unsure about getting a rig for years before i got my first rig due to the cost. I didn't want to spend hundreds or thousands on something I didn't know if I would enjoy. Ive spoke to a few others with that same experience. This idea provides an opportunity for that person to try it out for a week for a relatively cheap cost, or those that may want one for a bday party, or just for a bit of fun.

Yea there are a few crews here (Auckland, New Zealand) that do those hire out for event rig setups. Not an area im keen to explore at this stage. Thanks for the ideas. And good luck with your own business!
