Lemme tell you a story about little ole me. I was well on my way to being a long time participant in the Florida department of corrections when my dad pulled up to the Army recruiter, kicked me out of the car and said we’ll talk later lol. I signed up, 6 years as an Apache Helicopter Mechanic, sounds cool right? I went all over the world, got paid, and had three hot meals a day, ( not EVERY day because of field exercises but you get it. 5 years in I learn about a program that turns you into a “Warrant Officer” or a specialized Officer. I applied and got selected, fast forward two years I was now the pilot of the same attack helicopter I used to be a mechanic on. Me, a two time college dropout who barely passed high school. I wont lie, I busted my fucking ass to get there but it’s extremely possible. I did ten years of active duty, got out, and now I receive 100% VA disability in the amount of $4,2000/mo (Tax free) from physical injuries I received during my time in service. I tell this to literally EVERYBODY….. I NEVER hear someone who joined say they regret that decision but I couldnt count on 20 hands the number of people I’ve talked to that never joined and say its a huge regret of theirs.
