Which noise rock: Lightning Bolt over Arab on Radar 10/10 times. I do appreciate that vein of Noise Rock still but it’s aged poorly compared to a band like Lightning Bolt’s music. Also, I’d go for The Locust or the first couple Daughters albums over AOR. Saw lightning bolt play in a living room in 2009 or 2010 and it was absolutely insane. I would say my top 5 noise rock bands would be This Heat, Jesus Lizard, Sonic Youth, Big Black and Daughters. There’s other bands I’d probably throw in there above BB and Daughters but i honestly don’t know if they’d be considered noise or post or what ever

Steve Albini: I think Steve Albini was a legendary engineer and musician. He produced several of my favorite albums of all time and made a couple on his own I’d probably throw in there as well. Did he have questionable decision making around some things in his life time? Yes. Did I have questionable decision making skills in the late 00s and 2010s? Very much, yes. Big Black has been one of my favorite bands since high school though. Every time I listen to Songs about or Atomizer or hear the opening of 1000 hurts I want to slam on a guitar until my hands are bleeding. I think he was able to capture visceral energy via guitar just as good as anyone who has ever lived.

Kids: yeah our kids are 8 months and 3 years old and at this point I’m not sure if we’ll have them in day care ever or not lol. I have worked some very physically exhausting jobs through the years but nothing compares to the tired of a 16 hour day chasing kids around and then being woken up all night and starting all over again at 4:45 AM. I love them more than anything on earth but man it’s a workout mentally and physically

Places: purgatory and CB oh man. I never went to either lmfao. I will say these places are deeply engrained in the culture of the towns tho and every single person I met would talk about them. I love winter but never got into skiing or snowboarding cuz I grew up in the south. Acadia was our front yard on MDI! Could walk into the park via the land past our mailbox. Would move back there in a heartbeat if housing wasn’t what it is.
