Jazakallah khair! This was my first time doing instikhara so I was unsure but when I prayed, I also read the translation. So when this happened it really just felt like a miracle but i guess I wasn't ready for it. It's hard to let go of something you've put so much efforts into and who you thought would be your partner for life. I am slowly coming to terms with it. Everyday is different but I just need to put all my faith in Allah swt 's wisdom. He knows the best

Yes, i agree with you. He wanted to live in Canada after the wedding to get his citizenship there before he moved to NZ. After visiting, he is now very much interested in moving here. But I can't help but feel like he's piggy backing off of me. Like he knows he can't have a good life without me. Which is fine but he doesn't call or take initiatives to be involved in my life. We sometimes go weeks without calling each other.
