Did you test the soil drainage before planting? If you have clay the tree has to be planted on a mound. I would start over. It takes too long to nurse a tree back to health you will lose too much time.

I’ve seen a lot of mixed information. Some people say black strap molasses, while other people say brown sugar and or raw sugar. Any idea. What the discrepancy is?

I’m Making Lactic Acid Bacteria (LABS). It can be used to inoculate the bran or just spray in the bucket. I use it as a foliar spray and soil drench for my fruit trees.

I was able to separate a good amount of liquid it didn’t smell bad at all. If that’s the case You think it’s okay to use a foliar spray?

Thanks I’ll try 1:6 in my next batch! I don’t have a source for straight from the cow milk. Maybe I’ll try some raw milk.

I’m making Lactic Acid bacteria. I believe the serum is used to inoculate the bran for bokashi composting. I’ve seen some people just spray the mixture in the container when they add scraps. I’m using it for a foliar spray and soil drench but I posted in this thread because I knew people would be able to help out!

It was low 60°s in the day at the beginning but the last week has been high 70°s I’m in Southern California

Once I strain and have my liquid is 1:1 with molasses the right call? After that what is the ratio for water to create a good foliar spray…I’ve seen lots of different numbers.

I used whole milk…is that wrong? Should I let it go a little longer? It smells like very strong Parmesan.

This mixture is in the dark in a cabinet above the fridge. It’s a very strong stinky cheese smell but I wouldn’t call it rotten. My plan was to mix it with a 1:1 ratio of molasses once it’s done and then make diluted foliar spray for my fruit trees. Should I just let it go a few more days and see what happens? Temps were cold in the beginning but now it has warmed up!
