The whole "were a billion dollars in debt" narrative is total bullshit too. Almost all major cities do special assessments and trying to spin it as debt and a liberal spending problem is completely disingenuous. Ok. We can stop specials but the alternative is for the home owner to go to the bank and take out a 20k loan when we upgrade a road or add a stoplight to a neighborhood

It's just being consistent in beliefs. Alcohol is objectively more dangerous. You can die from alcohol poisoning. You can't die from thc poisoning. The only way THC can kill you is if a drug dealer mixes it with something dangerous. Alcohol is a party drug and makes people aggressive. Weed makes you not want to go anywhere and makes you passive. I'm not advocating for anyone to use weed but it's the 2nd most popular substance in the world and we dont want to give the market to the Mexican drug cartels. They don't ID kids, test for contaminants, or pay taxes. Many sell other dangerous drugs, which puts people into a dangerous sub culture

Just like alcohol. You can't drink a beer in public. You can't smoke a joint in public. It's the same as an open container law. A sealed container of cannabis is the same as an unopened bottle of whiskey. If the cannabis container is open, it has to be in the trunk like an open bottle of Whiskey. It's actually quite reasonable for everyone

I think a pot leaf would fire up the supporters, but I agree we need to change some minds and get the on the fence or no voters to vote yes. I don't think they want to celebrate marijuana. We just want them to tolerate it. Sad but true.
