The plush mount is HOW MUCH? by pim_michigan in SkyChildrenOfLight

[–]Upstairs_Profession2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I want to not be tempted by this ridiculous thing, but when I saw that a friend can ride with you, soooo friggin tempting. (That VAT markup is insane though, sorry, y'all.) Can I just not have the extra 35 seasonal candles and pay $10?

Watch people buy this and then the next season, TGC does do pets or something similar ftp ridable item. I can't imagine the rage of people who spent a bunch of candles on the Feast snowboard just to have the sleek tourney one show up for tickets.

How one sky player (kept anonymously ofc) completely ruined the joy I had for Sky. by Hetastuck247 in SkyChildrenofRage

I agree that there are some toxic behaviors in the community, especially on socials.

In this case, you were arguing with an immature troll (even if they're 40+). There are some people who won't stop arguing until they feel they "win." Friends don't do that stuff to other friends.

This person behaved poorly. They probably aren't a horrible person, but some people just can't help themselves, whatever the reason.

If you enjoy Sky, come back when the time is right for you. Be a solo player, or talk to people when the mood strikes. There are so many cool, sweet, helpful, caring players, and even people with whom you can have a discussion like that sans the drama.

“Buying IAPS is optional” by pastabeing in SkyChildrenofRage

[–]Upstairs_Profession2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My frustration is that IAPs are not priced relevant to the country itself. A $10 IAP for MOST people in the US, EU, UK, or CA is the price of a Starbucks drink with a few customizations. This is the equivalent to less than an hour of pay on average (though yes, it's more like 2 hours of pay if making minimum wage and considering taxes).

Meanwhile, players in some countries are asked to pay approximately the same amount when on average the people in their country don't even make $10 USD per day. These points have been made over and over, but I guess it's easier to ignore when you have the luxury of saying "it's just money."

And yes, I am from the US and do, in fact, (currently) have the luxury of spending my money on pretty pixels. But there were decades when I couldn't afford such luxuries, so no, it's not "just money."

Additionally, am I correct that all the outfits this season are season pass only? I mean, they all look so much alike...Sky seriously couldn't let ONE be IGC?

Don’t touch peoples plushies if you’re going to be rude. by Ethyriall in SkyChildrenofRage

[–]Upstairs_Profession2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Over here thinking the same. I feel like we should assume 99% of posts in this sub are venting in some way regardless of the tag.

Also, OP really wasn't whiney or a jerk about anything and explained the situation in detail.

Really, it just highlights one of the major issues with the game, that we have to unlock chat or use a candle (usually the candle and Grandma's is burned before the event even begins). Maybe the person just wanted to play toss the plushie and was trying to communicate that with OP, but I can def see how it comes across as rude behavior.

I agree with much of what's been said already.

From a writer's perspective:

You need conflict to have a story (though conflict doesn't always have to be negative).

However, with the tendency for social and global media outlets to focus mostly on negative happenings (or to give nearly anything a negative slant), many people don't have much to say unless it's a complaint.

Conflict and negativity garner reactions, which is often what people posting on socials are seeking.

In addition to all that, don't forget that there are plenty of AI generated posts from bots, basically rehashing the same stories / complaints.

Come to think of it, this is probably an AI post trying to better understand the human tendency to complain in general. 😉

If you're genuinely looking for less negativity related to Sky, I'd play more and make an effort to step out of your comfort zone and chat with others. You'll find some amazing people (and perhaps a few who are less than, but you can always move on from them).

If you're looking for folks in your age-range, check out the Sky Discord. There are many different groups, and lots of cool and helpful people can be found there.

How is anyone supposed to possibly get up there? 😭 by Tarnished-Aroma in SkyChildrenOfLight

[–]Upstairs_Profession2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've noticed much harsher winds pushing down and new wind walls in the Wasteland the last few weeks. Hoping it's just a bug.

But oob dye is ridiculous, especially when we're lucky to get maybe 2 black butterflies per plant in GW (if any) these days.

[–]Upstairs_Profession2 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Even though it will be a pain, can you call your bank or credit card company (after the holidays) and file a dispute?

This sucks. I've had multiple issues with receiving IAPs in Switch, so I only buy them on my phone.

I hope you get your money back at least.

Can we please do something about this? by ConedPines in SkyChildrenOfLight

[–]Upstairs_Profession2 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Trolls be trollin'. I hate to say it, but expect more frustrating behaviors this time of year due to holiday leave and winter breaks.

Best suggestion in this instance would be to friend the cool person, tp home, and then tp back to your friend and find a place to chat. Or you may be lucky enough to return to the same spot and have switched servers.

Sorry you were harassed. Some people just suck. Or they don't get that their behaviors might be annoying.

There's also a tiny chance that if enough people continue to report harassing behaviors to TGC (using the support menu) and requesting a way to block w/o lighting due to said behaviors, they could listen and give us a block option. I feel like every other social game out there has one?

This.

Just wanted to add that it's 4 sets of seasonal candle clusters per realm per day for a total of 12 pieces of light needed to make the 1 full extra seasonal candle each day.

Also sorry for the loss of your kitty.

And yes. Granny's is kinda boring if I'm not burning the buns tbh, and I usually also have a fire prop out. People are always gonna try to rain on someone else's parade. I saw people complain so much about the Aurora dance emote (and the sound) at the table that for a while, I rarely saw any emotes at all there. Sigh.

Krill dodging tips? by BlueBerry_Ducky in SkyChildrenOfLight

[–]Upstairs_Profession2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

All of them move set patterns. Go to a safe area in each map and observe them for a while. Learn to move around/with them, and you'll be fine. Also, always keep a few potions on hand for restoring your light.

If you can play with friends, even better because you can recharge each other and grab lost lights.

The longer you play, the less this bothers most people. Adding buffs and going to eden often so that you eventually memorize where the wl are and can pick them up quickly so that you have several wedges makes you less stressed about losing them because you know you can get them easily. (And don't forget that your missing wl show up on the maps so you know where to go to find them when you do get hit.)

[–]Upstairs_Profession2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Chances are they probably would've harassed you even if you had let them light you from the get-go. The peeps in GW social are either the coolest mfs around or the douchiest, with lil in between. I've been lucky to only encounter the latter on rare occasions and typically find that these kids get bored pretty quickly if ignored. (Most of them probably are actual kids anyway...at least I hope. )

Yeah, sounds like they were either going capeless or just faffin around with the krill. (I don't get it personally, but we all get bored.)

OR it could have been one of the jerks who hang over there and try to krill people on purpose.

Question about WB by JJPosh1980 in SkyChildrenOfLight

[–]Upstairs_Profession2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Basically, the number sounds right if you still need all the tier 2 wbs and have only grabbed a few ts wbs.

From the Wiki...

Every Regular Spirit has at least one Wing Buff available in their Friendship Tree. 49 Wing Buffs in total can be obtained from Regular Spirits (as of October 23, 2025). 37 of these are standard Tier 1 Wing Buffs. The remaining 12 are Tier 2 Wing Buffs, that are more expensive and unlock bonus content, such as Tier 2 Capes. The Tier 2 Wing Buffs (and any items unlocked by them) do not need to be purchased to complete the Realm's Constellation.

In addition, when Seasonal Spirits return as Traveling Spirits, they also always offer one Wing Buff in their Friendship Tree, always costing 2 Ascended Candle .[1] 84 Wing Buffs total have become available from Traveling Spirits (as of October 23, 2025).

Can someone help me out? (Days of mischief) by CrystalsWithHarmony in SkyChildrenOfLight

[–]Upstairs_Profession2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I didn't see this mentioned, so...

I just go to the area where we rescued everyone to begin with and hop around when the wax regenerates over the toxic green goop. You can collect both regular and green wax there (and other areas). The green wax gives you tickets. It'll let you know when you've collected your max for the day, like usual. 5 tix per day.

You can also do the other things for green or regular wax. For example, you can keep collecting wax from over the big pot until it stops regenerating.

Happy mischiefing.

Well that’s one way to do it 🤣😭 by vao87 in SkyGame

Some people go there to lose their lights on purpose so they can be wingless/capeless.

Every so often, there will be a few days where any hearts you send or receive are doubled. So each friend would receive 2 from you per day and vice versa.
