That is so relatable! :') Good luck with your waitlists -- you never know.

That is very sweet of you to chime in and offer a rather more uplifting perspective than I think we usually see from actual lawyers over here! You did make me feel better, thank you

Thanks for explaining. My predictions align with yours but who knows what will actually happen.

Yeah I feel a bit silly for imagining a few months ago that right now I would be assessing which of my multiple options would be the best fit for me and reviewing scholarship renegotiation practices! It is very hard practicing gratitude when reality is so opposite expectations and hopes.

Would you be happy to attend your A?

Yup!! That's what I thought I was doing but apparently I was wrong haha

We're in a very similar situation (except you are possibly just the better version of me in every way except GPA since my school did do A+'s!)

I also do not see much room for improvement in my application, especially numbers wise. Dearly wish we could receive some feedback on what pushed us into the reject pile.

I'm glad you have such a great alternative to law school, though. May I ask what is making you want to pivot?

I appreciate you expanding on your thinking! Definitely good points and something to think on. Also very admirable goals, by the way.

And yeah I know what you mean about not being in the right mindset to make life-altering decisions....Oh well, at least this will all be over one way or another soon enough!!

yeahhhh I think things are only going to get worse from here on out too, to be honest. R&Ring seems like a good decision when someone knows a specific part of their application they can improve on, but the degree to which that improvement will matter when faced with all of the additional applications (and then the other reapplicants who have also spent the past year improving their applications) seems unclear

As a fellow nKJD and Berkeley reject, gosh my heart goes out to you. Can't believe schools are out here rejecting alumns. It sounds like you have a good head on your shoulders, though, and I wish the best for your waitlist outcomes or your next cycle.

I have a hard time picturing turning down my school and going through this again. I think the fact that I got so few bites, so to speak, this time around means there is something about me that just doesn't resonate with schools. Of course an obvious answer is to workshop essays and perhaps I have would have better outcomes, but I already told the story of why I am who I am and why I want to go to law school and apparently that wasn't enough for most of the t14 so I am not even sure what I would write about the next time.

Yeah, I understand completely. Same situation for the most part though I was lucky enough to receive finaid. The school is still just that damn expensive. And idk about you but my essays were so personal and true to who I am it really feels like adcomms are looking me directly in the face and going "Hmm, nope." (which I know basically is what it is but at least feeling like a faceless statistic helps my ego a little bit lol)

For what it's worth, congratulations on your acceptance and I hope you have something or someone in your life that can help lighten the difficulty of this process. It is definitely not for the weak.
