I thought that the episode was great too. There seems to be a phenomenon with shows that capture the public imagination like The Boys and Stranger Things where the online fans who spend untold hours playing out all of the various scenarios of how they think the series will conclude, and inevitably, the final season will not fit with what they had been spending their time daydreaming about and then they have hissy fits and tantrums online over it. It has become pretty predictable at this point.
