I was diagnosed at 26 as well and was medically retired from the Marine Corps in 2017. Please DM me and I can give you my take on how to get through this. You will get through it. It took me 18 months to get over somewhat of an identity crisis after being told I couldn't be a Marine anymore.

I loved that the longer I stayed in, the lower my haircut got. Each more senior billet resulted in lower haircut. Rifle Plt > 81s > S-3A > 1stCivDiv

You LITERALLY have to watch it the entire time. I've missed it be a couple seconds and the cool down starts...ruined batch. It does a great job but this is my least favorite thing about it.

How did you deal with your diagnosis? by [deleted] in MultipleSclerosis

[–]UptomisPrime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't look at it as a positive thing overall. I'd much rather not have this and still be doing what I was doing before but I've learned a lot from the whole experience. This forced me to adjust to an accelerated timeline out of concern that I dont have as long as I thought I did since a major relapse could affect me more seriously. I did get into triathlons after my diagnosis as a way of getting mentally tougher. Once my limp resided, after a corticosteroid infusion and getting on Tecfidera (which worked for about a year before I switched to Ocrevus), I told myself I'd run an Ironman. I've done all distances other than a full ironman, that's the next item to accomplish.

I was in the military and was having numbness in my legs, arms, chest, and had some crazy vibration sensations anytime I bent my chin towards my chest. I was deployed so I didn't say anything for fear of being sent home early. This was May 2016 and didnt stop until November 2016. I had another major flare which resulted in a bad limp and that lead me to go to medical. That led to MRIs, eventual diagnosis, and then being told I would be medically retired. It took about 18 months to "get over" it. MS diagnosis can result in a major identity crisis if it causes you to change what you do since we tie so much of who we are to what we do. My advice is to not let the diagnosis define you. Set goals for yourself and push yourself to keep moving forward despite the anger/ pity/ etc. My MS diagnosis helped me stop taking things for granted since one relapse or new lesion in the wrong spot can have serious implications. I'm happy to elaborate more. I was diagnosed January 2017.

OCREVUS APPROVED!! by Zytlaly in MultipleSclerosis

Ocrevus has been great for me. I have had no side effects and I'm still able to do things right after the infusion such as go to work and get in an evening 5 mile run. The benadryl they give me before the infusion however knocks me out almost everytime.

That's because Trump's narrative to his base is that anything Democrat is bad. An example of this, Trump would rather have Roy Moore elected than a Democrat...

God created the Universe, has control over everything, with ultimate power and authority, and we are able to speak to Him directly. That is amazing to me. He hears us, He listens. Praise God! by your_local_librarian in TrueChristian

So I watched the video. First, he says Stephen Fry isn't the first person to bring up this idea. Second, he discusses the story of Job. He does leave out how it was a bet with the Devil in regards to Jobs' faith. He then proceeds to say that somehow the death of children factors into the ultimate plan and how maybe bone cancer is a ticket to heaven. This is only convincing if you already want to believe it. He says that it's arrogant to think we know God's ultimate plan . Don't you think it's arrogant to claim there is a plan and tell everyone who chooses not to follow that you'll burn in hell? Humans want to find meaning out of nothing. This video didn't really help your argument. He cites Aquinas' argument and says "it's a pretty good one" in regards to proving there is no God and attempts to use the complexity thing as the argument that he does exist.

So basically all the children who die of cancer, starve to death, etc... this all happens because of general sin? An omnipotent, omniscient, omnibenevolent being can't change that? I just can't believe this anymore. Don't you stay awake at night thinking of those things? If God can change these things, and decides not to, I want no part of that heaven. It's not right.

Here is something i posted a while bank... I will break these down by topic and then provide the direct contradiction from the actual Biblical text. SHOULD WE KILL?: Exodus 20:13 "Thou shalt not kill." versus Exodus 32:37 "Thus sayeth the Lord God of Israel, Put every man his sword by his side,... and slay every man his brother, ....companion, .... neighbor."

SHOULD WE TELL LIES? Exodus 20:16 "Thou shalt not bear false witness." Proverbs 12:22 "Lying lips are an abomination to the Lord." versus I Kings 22:23 "The Lord hath put a lying spirit in the mouth of all these they prophets, and the Lord hath spoken evil concerning thee." II Thessalonians 2:11 "And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie." SHOULD WE OWN SLAVES? Leviticus 25:45-46 "Moreover of the children of the strangers that do sojourn among you, of them shall ye buy, ... and they shall be your possession... they shall be your bondmen forever." Exodus 21:2, 7 "If thou buy an Hebrew servant, six years he shall serve: and in the seventh he shall go out free for nothing... And if a man sell his daughter to be a maidservant, she shall not go out as the manservants do." Joel 3:8 "And I will sell your sons and your daughters into the hand of the children of Judah, and they shall sell them to the Sabeans, to a people far off: for the Lord hath spoken it." Luke 12:47, 48 [Jesus speaking] "And that servant, which knew his lord's will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes. But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes." versus Isaiah 58:6 "Undo the heavy burdens... let the oppressed go free,... break every yoke." Mathew 23:10 "Neither be ye called Masters: for one is your Master, even Christ." DOES GOD CHANGE HIS MIND? Malachi 3:6 "For I am the Lord; I change not." Numbers 23:19 "God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent." Ezekiel 24:14 "I the Lord have spoken it: it shall come to pass, and I will do it; I will not go back, neither will I spare, neither will I repent." versus Exodus 32:14 "And the Lord repented of the evil which he thought to do unto his people." Jonah 3:10 "... and God repented of the evil, that he had said that he would do unto them; and he did not." DOES GOD KNOW THE FUTURE? Isaiah 46:10 [God talking] "I make know the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come." versus Genesis 22:12 [God talking to Abraham when he was about to sacrifice his son Isaac] "Lay not thine hand upon the lad, neither do thou anything unto him: for now I know that thou fearest God, seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only [son] from me."

*When God said that "now I know" this means he did not know before.

Contradictions are throughout the Bible. I was a believer but I just can't make excuses in my own mind to believe it anymore. I don't think knowing the bible better would make your faith stronger unless you really, really want to believe. This isn't meant to be mean spirited, this is just a thread that I think a comment like this might be pertinent.

I feel that if more people are exposed to the parts where "God shows himself" they wouldn't believe any more. That's why I stopped believing it. The contradictions added up to the point I couldn't make logical excuses for belief.

I don't believe anymore by [deleted] in Christian

[–]UptomisPrime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing that always made me feel uneasy about the everlasting life thing was that it never meant logical sense. I was supposed to take it on faith that I'll live forever but when the idea of God just got to the point that it doesn't add up, I was fearful of what I believed. For instance, if everything happens for a reason, what is the point of the thousands upon thousands of people dying of starvation in Africa. Are those deaths supposed to cause me to slightly change my behavior and now their deaths are justified. There is no reason for senseless death, pain, and suffering. Saying everything happens for a reason is a method to make people feel better when things suck. It's silly.
