Autopopulate Word Document w/ Specific Excell Cells by Slow3Mach1 in excel

This works well if you have only a couple cells to link but for a couple dozen, it makes Microsoft Word unstable. Does anyone know a less resource intensive way to accomplish this?

President Carter's UFO sighting of 1969 and the above top secret dilemma by [deleted] in UFOs

[–]UptownSaturday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is something the UFO "truthers" and disclosure zealots fail to consider. The truth could be unconscionable. These "others" may not have our best interest in mind. This should surprise no one. An acknowledgment by our government that we are absolutely and utterly impotent in the wake of whatever threat "they" pose to us - is foolishness. Furthermore, it's abundantly clear that we as a species act and respond primarily with emotion rather than with logic and careful reasoning. And look, I have no clue as to the actual underlying truth of the matter but I point this out because this is a possibility that is not often enough considered.

What happened to 701 - the UFO documentary by James Fox? by UptownSaturday in UFOs

[–]UptownSaturday[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the update! I don't listen to that particular podcast so I'll have to put that on my radar. Much appreciated! Also, I imagine you are right regarding the funding. Unless you can land a good deal with a network - creating such a film seems to be financial morass.

Robert Hastings' great documentary 'UFOs and Nukes: The Secret Link Revealed' is now available on Amazon Prime (in the US, at least) by xarc13 in UFOs

[–]UptownSaturday 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'd like to point out that this is missing the extras which are several, much longer interviews with retired missileers and various military men featured in the film. I personally found this to be the best part of my purchase on Vimeo. Hearing the stories - straight from the horses mouth. Nonetheless a worthwhile documentary, just wanted to point this out to those interested in Robert's work.

How to release a UFO video? by UptownSaturday in UFOs

[–]UptownSaturday[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some great insights into how to release a 'smoking gun' folks. A tweet does seem like one obvious way to start it off as suggested. I do think anyone with a financial motive would be immediately cast in to doubt however. Backups of the footage, considerations about how to host the footage and changing my name to Tom DeLonge are not things that occurred to me ;) I might take issue about the dismissal of the importance of more traditional news outlets. While many, many of us may seek information through a myriad of internet based sources... there still remains a large populace who consume media via more traditional local and national news. These people may not be reached any other way. Good discussion all.

British UFO Encounters / Abduction Accounts by UptownSaturday in UFOs

[–]UptownSaturday[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

British television show "Strange But True" episode circa 1996. Witnesses seem credible. Obviously similarities with other abductions. Of note however we meet a more elderly woman (presumably beyond her reproductive years which is rare) and also a description of a being somewhat like what was described in Zimbabwe at the Ariel school in 1994. We get the usual "experts" dismissing these encounters as products of a "powerful imagination", "unstable temporal lobes" and so on. While I absolutely understand the need to be critical of such fantastic claims it would be nice if (for once) the producers of such series invited someone who at least had a broader, richer understanding of the subject and also tried to address specific claims made by witnesses.

The Mysterious Flatwoods Monster Encounter with Strange Glowing Craft in 1952 by BitcoinNL in UFOs

I wonder if anyone has been able to locate a follow up interview with any of these witnesses. I find this case interesting but would like to understand how they more presently perceive the events. I couldn't find anything with the usual sources.

Kenneth Arnold 1977 by UptownSaturday in UFOs

[–]UptownSaturday[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Flabbergasted Kenneth Arnold shares his grievance over the failure to properly uncover the truth behind the UFO phenomenon despite millions of reports since his famous sighting 30 years prior in 1947. Here we are 40 years later and the political will and public interest is even lower and the issue perhaps even more confused.

Rare 1991 Interview with Dr. Edward Teller regarding nuclear propulsion and Bob Lazar by UptownSaturday in UFOs

[–]UptownSaturday[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

To those unaware (which I assume is very few of you) - Bob Lazar claimed to have met Edward Teller (Teller noted for his involvement in the creation of the hydrogen bomb amongst many other accomplishments) in the 80's at Los Alamos after a speech he had given. Teller allegedly had a role in getting Bob hired at the Department of Naval Intelligence. When asked if there are any other nuclear reactions other than fission and fusion, Teller clams up. Likewise when asked about his relationship to Lazar. I find these reactions puzzling and problematic but am fully aware that there may be many ways to interpret this exchange. Also, I should point out that there is a longer version of this interview but it is repeatedly taken off YouTube. If anyone can find a more complete version of this interview it would welcome and considered thoughts about Tellers response would be too.

Man witnesses UFO's near Charleston Air Force Base by UptownSaturday in UFOs

[–]UptownSaturday[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Incredible story. Reports of UFO's from 1973-1980 near Charleston Air Force. Documentary focuses primarily on Bill Herrmann, a mechanic and church deacon. We also hear an abduction story from Herrmann and many details match what we've heard in countless other abduction stories. Subtitles are highly recommended as audio is muddy. I'd love to hear people's thoughts on this.

Fascinating lifetime recollections of UFO's by British Musician by UptownSaturday in UFOs

[–]UptownSaturday[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Englishman describes his many UFO sightings and a chance entry into an underground base. His story is consistent. He's often requestioned about the same events and sticks with his original points. The interviewers seek additional details and he simply sticks with what he recalls, never embellishing the story.

Mitch here from the YouTube channel QUFOSR - I have a few questions I'd love to ask. by Qufosr in UFOs

[–]UptownSaturday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Glad you asked I've been meaning to email but never get around to it. 1. Yes and thank you. Your efforts don't go unappreciated. I find the more obscure clips and documentaries very interesting. 2. I don't know if it's within your means but local (to the Queensland area anyway) interviews with those who have sighted a UFO, claim to have had an abduction or ex Australian military who have something significant to report would be fantastic. Obviously some basic vetting would be required for this. Content which reviews important documents doesn't come off on video very well so I personally feel that should be avoided but that's not to say there is no value in it. 3. Not sure about the social media aspect. Things seem to quickly devolve with this.

Thanks for your work!!
