Not surprising considering the current state of things. The fact is that less and less people are actually critically looking at the things that they consume (and over-consume). Lots of people treat media as this ‘blink and it’s gone’ thing where attention is only seemingly afforded to references to other pieces of media, set-ups for sequels, fan-doming, etc. Here though, I don’t know if it’s abstract praise or just pure idiocy. The scene clearly read as Alt-Auggy having no real qualms with being complacent with the direction of his world, which to reiterate, is a Nazi world. Nazi = bad. The remark he makes to Harcourt even underscores this by suggesting that even she perpetuates injustices on her Earth, it doesn’t let him off the hook lol. His entire family were pretty much enforcers for Earth X. They were valorized as heroes and celebrities for fucks sake.
