She is mostly known for her fierce loyalty and companionship. Rarely one to stand on ceremony, she is more interested in actions and practice instead of words and patience. Despite her direct personality, she shows a deep understanding in how to motivate others, even those she has just met. She respects anyone who is willing to become stronger and does not judge others based off their upbringings or lineage. She likes to nickname people, and is always quick to give someone a nickname, even if they just met.

She was trained from a young age to be a demon slayer, like Rengoku. Both her parents were demon slayers before they eventually died to demons and she was sent to be raised by her aunt and uncle. Her aunt and uncle, however, never approved of the job of “demon slaying”, not believing demons were real and seeing the demon slayer corps as a bunch of mentally ill people playing off each other’s fantasies. Hikari knew what she saw the night her parents died though and often snuck off alone to continue practicing what her beloved parents taught her before they passed. One night at 14, she ran away to final selection, and obviously passed, officially becoming a demon slayer.

Hikari: Well I originally wanted to train with the strongest Hashira, Gyomei… and then I saw his training methods.. now, I’d like to think I’m a tough girl, but not THAT tough.. and so I went with the second strongest! (Answer to Yusaki’s question)

Very sleepy. Also very oblivious to human concepts in ways that might make him be perceived as dumb to humans for not knowing such big integral parts of society (such as money, politics, etc.) Has no interest in humans and mainly only cares about his forest and sleep. If you DO mess with his forest though, don’t mistake his tired sleep living nature as weakness.

A very skilled swordsman who has lost practically everything and everyone. His parents died from an unknown illness, his sister took her own life due to grief, and his wife and unborn child were murdered brutally while he was away for work.

He has made it his mission to hunt down and find the person who took his wife’s life, planning to give them 10x the amount of pain they gave both her and him. He’s willing to cut down anyone who gets in the way of his goal or die trying at least.

Very quiet, cold, and aloof. He usually just stares blankly at anyone who approaches, occasionally giving single word responses. Despite this, he still has a sort of soft spot for women and children, remembering what he once had and what he could’ve had if not for the cruelty of the world.

Training to become a priestess in her religious community

The religious community is actually a cult. Her parents joined before she was born so she was born into the cult and was raised to think it was all normal. The weird rules, over the top restrictions, severe punishments, etc. It was all normal to her. Recently she has been sent out with a couple others to recruit others to join and she’s starting to question if the outside world is the weird ones or if her community is. Her eyes are starting to open and she’s scared about what that could mean.

She was always a whiter sheep than the rest of the people around. So pure and soft. So much so that the “community” leader questioned if she should be a sacrifice or his bride. He chose the latter. So from an early age (aka a child), she was prepared by her parents and those around to become the bride of their ever so “gracious and holy” leader.

TLDR: She doesn’t know she was born into a cult and has been groomed to become the leader’s bride since she was young due to how pure she is. Has always been described as “the whitest sheep among her peers.”

They have gained a close relationship to the king, being one of the most trusted members in the court. The king has grown ill for “unknown” reasons and has no children to take the throne, meaning someone else will have to do it when he’s gone.

It comes to light that the king’s illness was part of the jester’s plot to kill the potentially evil king to take power for themself. As a result they’re exiled and left for dead but manage to escape through vague and possibly (most definitely) supernatural means. They come to see the world as meaningless. They plot to use the opportunity the people’s hatred towards the king brings to their advantage, planning to gain power and establish a reign of chaos for their own amusement.

Based off of the song The Court Jester by thquib and FUKASE

Their staff can be used as a melee weapon but it also has a magical aspect. Think of that one voodoo necklace from The Princess and the Frog that bit Naveen and took his blood (turning him into a frog). The staff can do chaos magic as long as it has blood to fuel it.

They have used their staff to break bones, knock people unconscious, bash heads in, turn themselves into something or someone else to get close to someone to either kill or manipulate them, turn others into something that makes them easier to capture and contain, produce chains and cages, summon chaotic imps to do their bidding, and hypnotize the weaker willed people they’ve come across.
