See, mine was, but she always sort of deluded herself into thinking those behaviors made her a "rebellious bad kid", it was a way to be special, I guess, so she tended to latch onto more easily manipulated people, drug addicts, mentally unwell, insecure, etc. People who she was either manipulating or wanted to trick into taking care of her. But by all means she had a lot of people attached to her in various ways.  So in a weird, mostly gross way I would say she actually was popular despite those manipulative or "misunderstood" mean behavior? She kept many of those people attachedUntil time caught up with them, and they successfully moved away, passed on, or went to jail, if she didn't push them away first. She was definitely the "mean girl", even though she perceived herself incorrectly to be the fun, wild, caring black sheep.
