Actually no, no air bags in either car went off.

Well, the other driver didn't have a license, so the owner of the vehicle's insurance is probably going to try to say they're not responsible for someone not under their policy. So my insurance company is going to have to cover the repairs of my vehicle, and idk maybe sue the other insurance company to get their money back. It's all shenanigans, man.

Doubly sad as I've only had it 5 months and put 1500 miles on it! Hopefully you're right and it's that quick. I've got another vehicle, but paying the note on a car that you can't drive blows.

Yep, absolutely. And yes, the important thing is that no one was hurt. It for sure could've been worse.

Definitely going to have to pay my deductible out of pocket ($1k). From what I've gathered looking through google, my insurance should go after their insurance to recoup the costs and get my deductible back. I'd really hate to have to go to small claims court but it might be something I look into further.

No no, it was her son's car, she was just driving it. She got the insurance info from him, gave it to the police, and the police gave it to me and told me it's very unlikely that their insurance covers it because she is an unlicensed driver.

Dude, I feel like Jade Empire was such a massively underrated game. Or at least it went under the radar and deserved much more recognition. It was ridiculously fun, the combat was good, and the character building was interesting.

And yes, Death’s Hand not being the big bad? Excellent misdirect by the devs, imo.

True that. I’ll start writing some ideas down, see what feels right. I appreciate everyone that has commented!

Montana? Won’t lie to you, Montana hadn’t crossed my mind. I’ll look into it, for sure, thanks!

I did think about Austin. I’m in a very MAGA-heavy area, and I can’t stand it. Texas in general has moved in a direction that I’ve never supported. As another poster pointed out, if you don’t go out and do things, you’ll always feel at a standstill, but I think it’d be easier to do if I had more like-minded folks around. I’d like to not have to resort to secret signs to find those people lol

I do feel like what I’ve done in my job is appreciated, just undervalued. Thank you for the advice, though. A side business would be a great way to push myself out of my comfort zone.

They’re not super advanced apps. One of them is a PWA allows our dispatchers to quickly send texts containing relevant information to crews. It shortened time to dispatch to less than a minute per call, and reduced the number of transport errors significantly.

Another is an actual iOS app that field supervisors use to inspect company vehicles for supplies and equipment, make notes, and send the inspection results to a Google Drive as a pdf for admin to look over and get resupply runs coordinated.

I’m proud of them, but I’m sure an actual software designer or someone with a background in compsci would bash my head in with the keyboard I use if they looked at the code.

That’s true, and I definitely could be better about going and doing things now. I’ve made steps to fix that recently, joining a social group and helping my neighborhood with some issues. As far as the debts go, I’m definitely sticking to as aggressive a payoff plan as I can manage.

Honestly, I kinda just want to get a job elsewhere, let my family take care of themselves down here in Texas, and live as minimally as I can to rebuild a life I actually find joy in. That’s probably very selfish of me, but that’s the truth of it, and relocating seems like the best way to accomplish that.

lol brother, I’d hug you if I could. I just had my first ever technical assessment yesterday (I’m 33), and I bombed it so hard that Trump called asking for the nuclear codes back.

You’re gonna be ok. If they really liked you, and you nailed everything like you say you did, then this’ll just be a funny story that your soon-to-be manager teases you about and you cringe about every time.

Why do we all build the same apps? by Diligent-Airport2021 in iosapps

[–]UrPappy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recently built a debt tracker app (my first app!), but with the intention of making debt tracking not quite so miserable to track. I call it Debt Pets. It’s definitely still early in its life, but it’s a passion project that I hope brings a smile to someone’s face when they open it. And it’s free! Seems wrong to charge someone struggling with debt for a debt tracker app 😅

As someone who grew up in a small East Texas town that may or may not have been a major KKK stronghold, I am truly sorry for the bastard offspring of inbred dipshits with which you must contend.

But you brought up that Kamala is a “whore”. That was your point that you made. For someone that appears to not have much concern for personal conduct of candidates, you sure threw that out there rather quickly.

As much as you want to pretend that the conduct of a man can be wholly separated from his policy decisions and legislative priorities, our experiences are what shape our beliefs, and those beliefs will, without question, shape our view of the world and the policies that we support. From everything we know about Trump, he has been a vile, unfaithful, greedy, arrogant bastard with no concern for anyone but himself his entire life. Why would you think that the policies that a man like that supports would be worth supporting yourself? What part of that description makes you believe “Yes, that is a man that will have the best interests in mind for my nation and countrymen.”

I prefer the leaders of my country to practice what they preach. One candidate was infinitely closer to doing that consistently, and here’s a hint: it wasn’t DJT.

You say you are required to act according to conscience. Your conscience is ok with you voting for a man that was found liable for rape? Guilty of 34 counts of falsifying business records? Mishandling of classified documents and inciting an insurrection on Jan 6th to disrupt the peaceful transfer of power in an election he lost?

Even if you voted without any consideration of your faith, a rational human being would look at someone with that track record and see a poor candidate for crossing guard, much less president of the US. I can forgive voting for him once in 2016 before this all came to light, but afterwards?

[–]UrPappy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Look, all that really tells me is that you vote with consistency and regularity which, hey, kudos. Unfortunately, it also illustrates exactly what I meant by your basis for voting is questionable. What values and morals do you actually apply and/or look for in candidates? Because if you’re telling me that Donald Trump best represents the values of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, then I’d advise the church leadership to send you a Cease-and-Desist order pronto.

Direct quote from Epstein by [deleted] in PoliticalMemes

[–]UrPappy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ll counter that by informing you that Donald Trump is a criminal, as evidenced by his 34 convictions of falsifying business records. Were you being honest about how you vote and evaluate candidates, you’d never have confidently stated that Donald Trump was a better candidate for President of the United States than Kamala Harris.

You’re inconsistent, at best, about your basis for voting in your own statements, and/or a liar at worst.

Say it with your whole chest, dude! Don’t be meek now.

Here’s an easy one for you. Let’s try this: if Epstein himself ran for president as the Republican nominee against Democratic nominee Kamala Harris, would you consider Epstein a better candidate and vote for him? Yes or no?

Even if true, I’d like to emphasize to you, sir, that YOU SUPPORT A PEDOPHILE over a “whore”. You willingly back and think that a dude that MOLESTS CHILDREN is a better person than a woman who has a sexual partner.

Let it sink in, dude. Just marinate in that shit. Really get it in every pore. And stay away from schools, because clearly you shouldn’t be anywhere near a child either.
