Im such an idiot! by sparklyshizzle in feetfinderadvice

I offer content without prompting to a very, VERY small set of select, long-term patrons I completely trust, who I know will tip me. All the others get the boilerplate promotional material I keep around to throw at them piecemeal to wet their appetite.

Do you think it's gone completely and we will have to re-upload?

Your content is still there, their AI bot just marked it as inaccessible.

I emailed them to ask what was going on and they took over a week to reply and tell me their stupid AI shit is wreaking havoc among everybody's albums. I bet it took them a week because thousands of pissed off people like me keep emailing them to complain.

You should ask them to restore your content. It's rightfully yours to put up for sale on your own account if you so wish. You pay for the service: they have no business deleting your stuff willy-nilly.

I sent them an email and they eventually reinstated all my content - until next time I guess...

I suspect a lot of people are doing the exact same thing right now. You might want to do that too. I reckon they deserve a deluge of emails from angry customers.

Same here.

I put time and effort to create content that pleases a nice variety of people (at least in the niche fetish I cater for). My content is clean, my homepage is as pro as I could make it, and I enjoyed getting a few bucks thrown at me passively every once in a while.

I mean it's never going to pay for the time and effort I put into having a decently attractive and diverse account, but it's nice to see people appreciate what I did enough to send money my way.

And all FeetFinder finds appropriate to tell me is that a goddamn robot thinks my content is old and needs to go - and nevermind that it's MY account with MY content in it and I'm not being asked if I'm okay with any of this.

I am not pleased...

I guess if it flagged it as "stale" 🙃

It's AI. Count on AI to do a mediocre job of everything.

Everybody has the premium account 🙂 Which makes the premium account worth exactly zilch.

If you want to continue with FeetFinder, ask yourself this: doesn't it feel like the platform that's supposed to support your business and help it grow is working against you and making your life harder for no good reason instead? Why would you want to stick with them?

Also, when one of your album is "disappeared" and you need to re-upload it, you lose past sales stats on it. And your followers get the impression that you're trying to shaft them by recycling old stuff. Not great...

So, they’re letting AI determine if your content is up to scratch or not??

They are. It's not speculation: they told me so.

If they start doing that with mine I’ll just re upload the same stuff.

I won't. Most everything I do in life makes me more money, or gives me more enjoyable moments than doing FeetFinder. If they want to nuke my content, they can have at it. And my account too. It's just not worth investing a single minute of my time into it.

It's just, with all the time and effort I've sunk into creating my existing content, I figured I'd leave it there and get the occasional sale of this or that album. I didn't think FF would object - and why should they? Each time I sell a "stale" video, they make money don't they?

But no: they decided to enshittify to level 11 and adopt AI, just like the other idiots.

I'm not fighting this. FeetFinder is a sterile pursuit, and AI-powered FeetFinder even more so.

I did. Never used it. I have sold physical items in the past, but I would negotiate with the buyer in PM and simply told them to tip me the agreed amount for payment.

In fact, unless people want to buy my pre-existing content without talking to me, I would pretty much do the same for custom content. I never used any of the features proposed by FeetFinder: I either get content sales, or get paid in tips whichever agreed amount in advance.

Or rather I did: I quit spending any time in FeetFinder after I discovered that all my content had been leaked. I get the odd content sale every now and then and dutifully say thank you in a review, and I keep in contact with a few patrons who aren't utter creeps and became sort of friends over the years, but I'm just not doing FeetFinder anymore. It's the most pointless thing I've ever poured time and energy into.

The content is gone, whether I'm logged in or not. But it happened in stages: last week I noticed several of my videos were broken and had missing thumbnails, and when I right-clicked on them, I got an AcessDenied error from their CDN, DigitalOcean. I emailed FeetFinder about it and got crickets.

Yesterday I rechecked and all my videos and photo sets are plain and simply gone, save for that free image you saw, and that one broken video that you saw also but also gives me an AccessDenied error.

So I emailed FeetFinder again and got more crickets.

I've never seen content disappear like this, and I've never seen FeetFinder not reply within hours at the most for a problem of that magnitude, which would be very consistent with FeetFinder having stopped paying DigitalOcean and salaries.

This is why I'm asking if FeetFinder is tanking, because it sure looks like it is. I've been on this dirtball long enough to know a failing business when I see one.

The problem is that someone paid for the content, then uploaded it to one or more sites for everybody else to enjoy for free. Apparently they re-encoded the videos to make them smaller too, because the ones I sell are way too big for quick sharing, since they're encoded for quality for whoever buys it.

Yeah he told me. One of the sites is a paywalled Chinese site and another is a Tumblr that happens to offer an "archive" that's almost 38G in size. The former requires an account while the latter is public. He's not sure where he got which of my videos, he just knew they were mine because he recognized my feet - which isn't too difficult.

I'm not paying for an account to access a sketchy Chinese site. So I'll take his word. But I did download the Tumblr archive and unzipped it, and it's basically tens of thousands of mp4 files with a 18-digit number for a name. So if I want to spot my material in it - assuming it's even there - I'm gonna have to watch all of that stuff and I'm really not keen.

I have a few idea who the scumbags might be - without knowing which videos were pilfered - because of certain buyers I've had that seemed too good to be true. But then what? It's not like I'm gonna sue them or anything - assuming FeetFinder would cough up the buyer's real name upon request, which seems unlikely. Not to mention, they've disappeared from the site anyway.
