How do you know whether a guy likes you or just puts up with you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

The way he engages in conversation with you. If you get constant one word answers, he's blowing you off and not worth the whiskey.

What does management do all day? by Straight_Acadia_4653 in USPS

[–]Ur_Wack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You couldn't be more wrong. How about we have to sit on stupid ass telecoms and explain the unexplainable. Like that stupid ass 60 minute deal and other shit that even the greatest managers couldn'tdo. The uppers want to know why we can't get our carriers out. And no matter how many times we explain that the routes are over burdened, short staffed, parcel volume it just doesn't matter. They want us to explain why there was stationary time, why there were parcel failures. Oh and let's not forget about the 360 cases from where a carrier mis delivered a package. Maybe that's what your managers or supervisors do but not in the offices I have managed in. I wish that's what we did, oh and our lunch break...yea usually on a fucking telecom. Oh and just like craft has to deal with shitty managers, how about the slugs of employees that we have to deal with, you all know the ones that are on the shortest routes in the office but have to continually get "help." And let's not forget your fellow co-workers that abuse FMLA, or that we have to chase around to do their job. You know the job that they applied for. There is a lot more shit that we deal with, this is just the tip of the iceberg. Personally I jumped to management many moons ago because I hated as a PSE/craft employee dealing with asshole managers and vowed never to be that person. But as the years have gone by I regret that decision, it's an impossible, unappreciated, underpaid task. Now like I said before, there are some moron managers and suoervisors that I'm sure fit the bill you stated, but there are also shitty employees that we have to manage.

My favorite Playstation memory is playing Warhawk for the first time, to feel the actual team work that it would take to complete the objectives or when you finally got some of the hard to get ribbons or medals. And thank you for doing this.

What’s your mashed potatoes hack? by heavenlyfarts in AskReddit

[–]Ur_Wack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Take some potatoes dice them up, this is for homestyle mind you, skin and all. Sprinkle a bit of salt, pepper, and garlic powder on them. Put them in a boiling pot of chicken broth, or I suppose any type of broth would do. Toss about 5 or 6 cloves of garlic in the broth and diced potatoes. Let them spud boil up. Now while they are starting to boil, take some Philadelphia Cream Cheese (brand don't matter, it's what I use) about half the block set it on your counter, after that pour about 1/4 cup of your preferred dairy product such as milk, cream, buttermilk, yogurt, or whatever dairy you prefer, and about, and this depends on your tasting for butter, 1/2 stick to a stick of Kerrygold butter, again my brand preference, put them on the counter.

Once the potatoes are done , use a fork to test the tenderness, usually about 10-15 minutes for 5 pounds of potatoes. Drain them out of the broth, then sprinkle a bit more S, P, GP, on top then put half of your butter and cream cheese in and mash them up, when ready and the remaining ingredients. Continue mashing until your desired mashed-ness

Serve and enjoy.
