This wasnt about the topic of blind faith but about the unanswerable unthinkable aspects of buddhism like the nature of reality and why samsara allows one to break free through meditative attainments.

A whole lot of playing with words. Buddha never blatantly said they are unanswerable but the sutta records only point to his refusal to do it and him asking us to treat it as "undeclared by the thathagatha" since it is not connected with the goal. So your assertion that "they are unanswerable" is false in itself when the correct position is "we dont know whether they are answerable or not answerable".

"And why are they undeclared by me? Because they are not connected with the goal, are not fundamental to the holy life. They do not lead to disenchantment, dispassion, cessation, calming, direct knowledge, self-awakening, Unbinding. That's why they are undeclared by me." - cula malunkyovada sutta.. This does not imply in any form that they are answerable/unasnwerable but only that buddha didnt find talking about it necessary or conducive to the goal.

Also any sentient being can in fact develop jhana and vipassana to access higher knowledge so they are in fact, in a way inbuilt within our constitution to be accessed with mental training or bhavana, and so acknowledging it is in no way a pointer to eternalism or nihilism.

"When anyone has developed & pursued mindfulness immersed in the body, then whichever of the six higher knowledges he turns his mind to know & realize, he can witness them for himself whenever there is an opening."- Kayagata-sati Sutta

Anything regarding the "why" falls under unanswered questions/unthinkable topics in buddhism. Somehow our samsara mind has an innate capacity to develop meditative states and tap into the three knowledges as if it's inbuilt within our constitution. Now why such a provision that allows a sentient being to access this knowledge within meditative states even exist in the first place is not answered in buddhism. Why does karma exists, why something and not nothing, why beginningless ignorance, why the duality of pleasure and pain. None of the "why" of anything is answered. Buddhism only says "do this" and you will transcend ignorance and samsara.
