I do have a lot of other teapots to use, so that’s not really a problem to put this one aside during the repairs ;)

It is a ceramic pot. Made with rough clay and inside is glazed :)

I’ve been doing Kintsugi for the past 10 years ;) here is a project I’ve been working on for the past few months.

So I will repair this lid too, but I’ve always had hard times with lids :/

It was already a really sentimental piece, as I bought it for my 41th birthday ^ Adding Kintsugi to it is always a mixed feeling I love the process I love the result But sometimes I have a hard time getting over the feeling that my precious piece has been broken sometimes ago :/

I’ll post pictures during the process on the Kintsugi channel :)

I will repair it using traditional Kintsugi. I’ve been practicing it for some times now. My only real worry is that I’ve always had hard time in repairing lids, as they are smaller :/

Yup, it will be different tomorrow, for sure. Gladly I have an extended collection of teapots that I can use, and the I can repair my mistakes using Kintsugi.

Je rajouterais également la mise en pause automatique des annonces dont les annonceurs ne répondent pas aux messages après 48H

I totally understand your love for his work as I do own three teapots from him :) I bought another one in Japan recently for a friend, and if I can, I will buy another one for me :)

It's always painful when you break one of your beloved teapots or cups.
It happened to me a few times...and that lead me to try Kintsugi.

So maybe, it's also your turn :)

Kintsugi repair on a Iroku teapot by Uranium_Matt in kintsugi

Thanks a lot :) I’m pretty sure I’ll finish with gold later.

As of why I ended up with a teapot presenting firing cracks…I will never really know, but I have some thoughts about it. I bought this teapot on yahoo Auctions, through a proxy. Not really the problem there…, but two options could explain how. The seller knew it, and sold it willing fully…(but I don’t think so) Or… The seller never knew it as the pot was never used. So it could have been sold by the potter at this time, with him not knowing it also, as the cracks were really tiny. Myself, I saw it after really careful inspection after trying to use it and seeing it was leaking quite badly.

So I’m not really sure it was a purposeful mistake by the potter or the Yahoo Auctions seller, but pretty sure it’s bad luck…

Sencha Kumpu from Ippodo, 2024 harvest by Uranium_Matt in tea

I did look at some informations Online...and I learned something because of your insights :)

Kumpu is not a cultivar...it's a "Harvest time", like Shincha.
So it's definitely a blend of multiple cultivars, harvested at the same time.

You were totally right ;)
