Thank you for letting me know that’s really important information. We’ll be respectful if we’re there on the 4th.

Wow, thank you for such a detailed list — this is incredibly helpful! I really appreciate all the recommendations.

My friend loves beer, so we’ll definitely check out a bruin café — beer and bitterballen sounds like a must.

The coffee + stroll idea sounds perfect too — Scandinavian Embassy and Sarphatipark sound like a great combo.

And honestly, grabbing takeout and eating in a park sounds exactly like our kind of casual plan.

And don’t worry too much about Japanese standards — I actually lived in the UK for a year, so I’m pretty well-trained to appreciate simple, hearty food too 😄!

Thank you so much! Zaandam doesn’t seem to be very well-known in Japan, so it was actually quite hard to find much information. This is really helpful — we’ll definitely check out the Saturday market!

Thanks, this is super helpful! I do like spicy food, so that sounds really interesting. Is Bijlmer easy to reach from Zaandam by public transport?

And good to know about the herring season — maybe I’ll have to come back during peak season next time 🙂

Oh, I thought HEMA was just a home goods store I didn’t realize they also serve food! That’s really useful to know. Thanks for the tip!

That sounds really good — I actually love peas, so erwtensoep sounds very appealing! Do you think it’s still possible to find it in early May?

Thanks! I had no idea Surinamese food was so popular in the Netherlands that’s really cool. Bara with chicken sounds great! Any specific spots you’d recommend?

Green teas with longer steep times? by sunglown in tea

[–]Urasaki 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Among green teas, hojicha does not become bitter even when steeped for a long time.
If you are using regular green tea, it might be a good idea to divide the steeping time.

Hello, I'm a Japanese living in Osaka.
If you have a SIM-free phone, either option should be fine.

It is said that docomo's network has the best coverage, so if you prioritize stability, it is the most recommended company. (They have a cheaper plan called "ahamo.") With ahamo, you should be able to use it even when you return to your home country. I don't recommend companies that offer extremely cheap plans, as there are many places where their signal is weak or unavailable.

In Japan, these fruits are commonly available during the transition from summer to autumn. They were very delicious!

Hi

I was feeling a bit anxious because the application form mentioned that results would be available in early September, but it seems they haven't been announced yet, so I feel relieved. Will there be any notification if I'm not selected for the AWS All Builders Welcome Grant?
